Season

While Venice doesn't really have a low season - it's such a popular place - you can still find times when the city is less busy and accommodation has better deals.

We visited in May and in October and were already able to save so much money as well as avoid crowds.

Note: we did get rain in May, but it also meant that at times the city was almost completely empty - just look at the video below filmed on a Friday night, at 8:45pm! It had just stopped raining and many people were still having dinner, so there was almost no one around even at the main attraction - St Mark's Square!
