1. The Scenae Frons The elaborate permanent stage set, known as the Scenae Frons, is a breathtaking example of Palladian design. It features a trompe-l'œil effect, creating the illusion of long streets receding into the distance, symbolizing ancient Thebes. 2. The Elliptical Auditorium The semi-circular seating area, modeled after Roman theaters, allows visitors to appreciate Palladio’s vision of classical harmony and symmetry. The seating provides excellent views of the intricately decorated stage. 3. Historical Performances The theater still hosts performances, often featuring classical plays or concerts. Experiencing a show here offers a rare chance to step back in time and see the venue as it was intended to be used.
