Unique London Areas: Your Ultimate Guide for Hackney / Dalston
Arthur Costa Manso
I've been solo-traveling the globe for 10 years and enjoy finding lesser known places and spending time with locals. During my recent two-week stay in London, my local friends recommended to me some up-and-coming neighborhoods. I went and checked out the spots for myself! This guide takes you through the best options for cafés, pubs, nightlife, markets and leisurely strolls in the diverse areas of Hackney / Dalston.

Best Cafes
For Morning
The Dusty Knuckle Bakery
@arthurcostamanso
Cool industrial-style bakery with a hipster vibe. Place is packed but service is fast. I had the toastie of the day for £7.50 and even at a steep price, it did not disappoint. Sourdough and focaccia are next level! Top-tier and contender for London's best bakery.

Jolene Bakery & Restaurant
@arthurcostamanso
Before noon, it's a relaxing cafe/bakery and after 12pm it turns into a romantic restaurant. Ambient is key here. Amazing food and service too!

(Only open on weekends) A hidden gem! Perfect setting to have a beverage and enjoy the pleasant weather. Gorgeous gardens, great music and fantastic community vibes. Try the home-made pizza!

Walking along the canal is a peaceful and calm experience in one of the world's loudest cities. A great way to get a feel for the neighborhood.
