šŸ·Monferrato & Astigiano - Piedmont for Wine Lovers

Nestled just between the Langhe and Torino, the Monferrato and Astigiano areas have long been known for their Moscato, but are currently taking a huge step forward onto the stage. The region produces many wines ready to wow you, with some interesting niche bottles to capture the hearts of already studied wine lovers. šŸ“Monferrato & Asti

Monferrato is located just to the east of Torino, with Asti as the border between Monferrato and the Langhe. The area has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 2014.

Technically the region can be divided into: Basso (or Monferrato Casalese), Monferrato Astigiano, and Alto (Southeast, as the hills merge with the Appenines)

Itā€™s particular for itā€™s soils which allow producers to store wine in stable natural caves of sandstone.

šŸ“Monferrato is especially worth visiting because it is still just off the radar in many ways. While crowds head straight to Barolo, Monferrato is laid back.

Welcoming visitors to gorgeous agriturismi and spas, while letting them sip some more unique wines away from the busy Langhe scene.

I particularly love this area for their šŸ‡Ruche grape and wine.
