This is a roughly structured guide on how to spend your time in Bali while on a two week vacation. I've compiled a list of things to do and places to eat for a few of the main tourist cities of Bali. 2 Week Itinerary - Bali

This was one of the most interesting experiences that I did in Bali. It's on every recommendations list for a reason. We arrived about half hour after the Monkey Forest opened and they seemed pretty chill. Maybe about half hour later, it was as if the forest awoke. All the monkeys were out and some were getting into little scraps. If you're not the greatest animal fan but still wants to check the Monkey Forest out, I would advise you to go early in the morning. 

Mount Batur has an endless list of things to do. We ended up going on a jeep tour where we had a local driver take us 4x4ing across the volcano. We did stop and walk up to the top, which was where I almost lost my sunglasses. Additionally, tourists often go on a sunrise hike to the top of the mountain. This wasn't really how I wanted to spend my vacation, but I admire the outdoors dedication others have. We ended up driving past the hikers walking down the mountain on our way up.

Also in the area, due to there being a volcano, there are many options to enjoy the area's natural hot springs. This stop was included in out Jeep Tour package, but if you're looking for a relaxing day, I could spend an entire one in those warms waters. There are women who offer massages in the pools as well, so you never have to leave luxury for relaxation. 

This was the very first restaurant that we ate at in Bali, and it set my standards pretty high. This one was recommended to us by two Australian women who come to Bali fairly often. They have explored plenty of the island and knows what it has to offer, and they continue to return to this restaurant. I agree with them. Whenever I go back to Bali, I will be hopping on a Grab and will be having my lunch and dinner here even if I am not staying in Sanur.

If you're travelling on a budget and not wanting to stay in hostels, I'd recommend checking out Sanur House. It was the first hotel we stayed at on our trip, and we compared the rest of the ones to this one. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the pool and lounge area were some of our hotel favourites.

If you're looking for delicious traditional Balinese food in Ubud, this is the place to go. I still dream about their veggie rolls and Mie Goreng. Each restaurant that we visited afterwards just couldn't compare. 

Sure, is this restaurant really in Kuta not Canggu? Yes. But if you're not planning on staying in this part of Bali, it's worth the Grab ride over for breakfast. This was one of our favourite places to eat while we stayed in Kuta. I wouldn't necessarily choose to spend my vacation in Kuta, but I would go for a portion of the day to check it out and to stop and grab a bite to eat here at Crumb & Coaster. 

This was a nice change from the beach clubs that we had visited in Canggu. The waves around Bali are known for being intense and good for surfing, but this little pocket that Sundays is in has calm water that you're able to swim in. Additionally, you can rent snorkels, kayaks, and more from the beach club for some outdoor activities.

If you're into the party atmosphere and enjoy Finn's in Canggu, then you'll most likely vibe with Savaya as well. If you're there on the right weekend, you could party with some world class DJs. 

I recommend doing a lot of your day trips out of Ubud. It's one of the better cities, in my opinion, to stay in with the closest access to all of the fun activities and landscapes of northern and eastern Bali. You can either rent a driver, or purchase a tour package depending on what you're interested in doing. 

There are an abundance of rice fields to visit just outside of Ubud. Take the time to walk around in the fresh air. Many have great photo options as well, from swings to bike rides in the air, there is plenty to do and explore.

This was the tour that we decided to go with through TripAdvisor. When originally planning the travel to Bali, it was a little overwhelming trying to decide what to do and when. At least with tours like this one, there is an element of stress taken away because you've got someone else to worry about the logistics! I appreciated having a local tour guide driving us around because he knew where he was going, and the best times to be at the beaches. There were a lot more people going to Nusa Penida than I thought. If you're looking for a quieter island adventure or ones with more party atmosphere, I'd recommend checking out some of the next islands. 

There is so much to explore on Nusa Penida alone. I went with a day trip because I did not want to have to worry about bringing my luggage on the small ferry. If you're travelling light, I recommend added a night or two here to explore... or at one of the other islands nearby like Nusa Lembongan. If you're feeling extra adventurous or have the time, I would figure out a way to get to Komodo National Park.
