Day 2: A day trip

🌇 The day trip to Kingswear and Dartmouth starts at this train station. Here you enter the old steam train and take a 30-minute train to Kingswear.

From Kingswear, you can take an hour's hike to Brownstone Battery. Along the way, you come across a good view of the Kingswear Castle and enjoy nature. Mind that there are parts that are less easy to walk and not all paths are paved.

From the Brownstone Battery, you can see these rocks that look like a dragon tail. I was here around April, meaning these rocks were covered with beautiful yellow flowers.

On the way back you go up to the Daymark. The way back is along paved paths and thus a bit easier to walk. You follow the road till you arrive at a four-point crossroad, here you go left and follow the Brownstone Road.  At the end of this road, you go left to Mount Ridley Road, which you follow back to Kingswear. Along the way, you can find signs back to Kingswear.

🌃 End the day with an early dinner in Darthmouth before returning to the train. Mind that the ferry goes once every 15 minutes. So be careful you will not miss your train back to Paignton.

Day 3: Paignton

🌇 The last day in Paignton can be spent walking through the park and beaches on the other side of town. The first stop is Fairy Cove, a small and not as busy beach in Paignton.

🏙️ After this stop the walk can be continued to the next stop: Roundham Head. A park on a big rock that has the same red color as the Preston Sands rock. Walk to the calming park and chose a bench to sit and enjoy the few.
