Luxury Thermal Retreats in Italy 💆🏻‍♀️

Martina Coppola ✈️
“Salus per Aquam”, that’s the real meaning of SPA, a place where you can spend peaceful moments alone or in company. I love spending time at thermal retreats, maybe because I was born and reased in Rome, a city also known for the numerous thermal spots you can found around the center. Indeed, Romans used to visit them after work to relax or to make connections, but also, of course, to ensure a decent level of hygiene. In Italy we have plenty of them, from North to South; today I would like to describes two of them that I discovered traveling around Tuscany and one near the center of Rome. Of course, Italians are known for the ability to connect anything to great wines and food, therefore there’ll be space for them too, in order to heal both the body and the spirit 🥂 #italy #thermalretreat #relax #travel #tuscany #rome #luxury

Fonteverde Lifestyle & Thermal Retreat - San Casciano dei Bagni (Siena, Tuscany)

5 stars hotels with beautiful interiors and, obviously, an excellent services; external and internal thermal pools; wellness area and extraordinary cousine. I have booked my ticket, yet!

The building is an historic mansion with many frescoes that describes some scenes of the Italian history; the palace is located on the top of a hill, far from populated areas (there’s only a small village near the hotel) so you can totally immerge yourself in the silence and nature. Some of the pools are reserved for the clients that stay at the hotel and open 1h before the “normal” ones. There are many wellness services, from the classic massages to tailored programs. Moreover, if you have a pet, you can bring him/her with you because there’s also a pet friendly pool. There’re two restaurants, both delicious, that offer a modern menu, but connected to the tuscany culinary tradition .

I’ve been there twice, I was enchanted by everything; in my opinion, prices are fair, I recommend to visit the website to discover offers and customized solutions (for example, a very nice one is the package for a 1 night stay with breakfast and dinner included).

Bagni di Pisa Palace & Thermal Spa - San Giuliano Terme (Pisa, Tuscany)

Another 5 stars hotel from the same Hotel Group of Fonteverde. Bagni di Pisa is located at the center of a small village, San Giuliano Terme, known for the thermal springs, close to the famous Torre di Pisa.

The historical building is magnificent and there’re many pools (inside and outside the building) and wellness areas. Moreover, there is a terrace with a nice garden where you can try a little trek to reach the top of the hill and see from there the Torre di Pisa.

The thermal pools have different temperature, some of them really hot, and also different types of water (for example, salted water). You can have also a Turkish Bath with complementary scrubs and thermal mud. Of course, you can try the excellent cousine, similar to Fonteverde, well linked to the tuscany tradition.

Also in this case I recommend to book a half board solution, to fully relax and disconnect from the “real world”. We travelled with our dog and, obviously, he was more than welcomed: we found in the room a complete kit with eveerything we needed for him and a dedicated list of services, also we had the chance to book a dog sitter for a couple of hours.

QC Termeroma - Roma

Around Italy there are many QC Terme resorts, one of the best is in the north of Italy in the middle of beautiful montains... but if you are in Rome and you’d like to relax after visiting the city, that’s your spot. It is located near the city of Fiumicino, but you will not hear the airplanes, indeed you’ll be surrounded by nature and peace.

It is possible to visit the center for the day or even just for the “aperitivo” or you can choose to book a room in the 5 stars hotel.

There are no thermal springs but there are many pools with different temperatures, wellness areas and a great park where to relax. You can have a light lunch and they offer a complementary snack in the afternoon. The place is very beautiful and the wellness services are simply perfect.

I usually go there to recharge my batteries, therefore I can recommend to book the daily entrance and, if you like to, the light lunch to have a nice glass of Prosecco in a magnificent location.
