A 3-day itinerary including restaurants, hotels, things to do, and hikes in the Salt Lake and Park City area. This guide focuses on summer activities but could work for any season except winter.

3-Day Northern Utah Itinerary: Summer

Arrive in Salt Lake City (I would either try to do a flight after work Thursday and arrive in SLC late Thursday night so you can have 3 full days or arrive Friday morning with a red eye and hit the ground running). 

Pick up your rental car at the airport if you didnt the night before. 

Grab some breakfest and get geared up for a full day!

You'll head up Big Cottonwood Canyon for your first hike of the day. I recommend packing a lunch, or you can stop at Silver Fork Lodge on your way down the canyon, or Porcupine at the base. 

Donut Falls is also a great add on hike on your way down the canyon.

For a sunset hike to end the day with some amazing views, I recommend either of these.

Grab dinner at any of these fine establishments (I recommend one with patio seating)

Today you will spend most of the day in the Park City area!

Check into your hotel if you havent already, maybe take a swim at the pool or if you are still feeling adventerous and have time here is what I would recommend:

The Salt Lake City Farmers Market is every Saturday morning in the summer at Liberty Park.

Park Silly (farmers market and sometimes art show) is every Sunday in June and July.

Download AllTrails and download each hike you plan to do so you can easily follow the trail. Always have more water than you think you need! High altitude is no joke if you come from a lower state. 

Please always be respectful and leave no trace!

I would get an early start and get breakfast up in Park City, or you can always stop at one of the places from day 1 to grab a smoothie or something light. 

You'll then head to Park City Mountain Resort where there are more than enough options to satisfy any traveler! They have mountain bike rentals, with world-class trails, scenic lift rides, an alpine slide, an alpine coaster, mini golf, zip lining, and more!

I recommend heading to Jordanelle State Park in the afternoon to swim, kayak, paddleboard, or fish! It's a great way to cool off and relax for the rest of the day. 

I recommend making dinner reservations (and brunch if they let you) for any place you are really excited to go to!

If you are up for it, another great sunset hike you could hit in Park City is PC Hill.

If you would rather head back down to SLC, freshen up at your hotel and get dinner, and hit a comedy show or concert downtown!
