1. Zermatt
The car‑free village of Zermatt is located at the foot of the Matterhorn in the middle of a landscape bursting with adventure possibilities and panoramic views. All the panoramic mountains like Gornergrat or Sunnegga can also be reached by cogwheel train or cableway.
2. Stoos
Nestling in a lovely Alpine landscape at the foot of the Fronalpstock lies the car‑free village Stoos on the sunny plateau of the same name. The ascent to 1,300 metres is an adventure in itself: the world’s steepest funicular has been running from Schwyz up to the Stoos and will delight you with amazing views.

Wengen lies on a sheltered sun terrace at the foot of the Jungfrau, above the Lauterbrunnen Valley and not far from Grindelwald. The car‑free village has been accessible from Lauterbrunnen with the Wengernalp Railway. Wengen is worth a visit for its its picture‑perfect mountain village character.
5. Rigi
When on top of the Mount Rigi, you will be impressed with a breathtaking all‑around panoramic view – onto Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and Lake Lauerzersee among other gems. journey starts with a historic ride on Europe’s first cog railway from Vitznau by Lake Lucerne to the station Rigi Kaltbad at 1,798 metres altitude – stunning panoramic views guaranteed.
6. Quinten
In Quinten you can enjoy everything that nature has to offer: the village lies by Lake Walensee and faces the Churfirsten mountain chain. Quinten can be reached on foot from either Weesen or Walenstadt, or via boat. The boat cruise to the car‑free village is a unique experience and delights with fairy‑tale views of this beautiful region.
7. Rütli
Rütli is a place full of history: For the Swiss, the Rütli represents the pinnacle of the Swiss founding myth, where Switzerland was founded in 1291. The Rütli can be reached on a roughly one‑hour hike on the “path of Switzerland” from Seelisberg or by boat from either Brunnen or Flüelen.
8. Mürren
Mürren lies on a terrace high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley and at the foot of the Schilthorn. This car‑free village offers a view of the untouched mountainscape on the opposite side of the valley, including a fantastic panoramic view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
9. Jungfraujoch
Often referred to as the "Top of Europe," Jungfraujoch is the highest railway station in Europe. It's reachable by taking the Jungfrau Railway from Interlaken and then transferring to the Jungfrau Railway from Kleine Scheidegg. The journey itself is a spectacular experience, offering breathtaking views of the Alps.
10. Gornergrat
You can take the Gornergrat Railway from Zermatt to reach Gornergrat. This mountain offers stunning vistas of the Matterhorn and other nearby peaks.
11. Engelberg
Accessible by train from Lucerne, Engelberg is a popular destination for both winter sports and summer hiking. The Titlis Rotair cable car takes you to the top of Mount Titlis, where you can enjoy incredible views and various activities.
12. Bernina Express
While not a specific place, the Bernina Express is a scenic train route that travels through the Swiss Alps from Chur to Tirano in Italy. The journey offers breathtaking views of glaciers, mountains, and picturesque towns.
