Ultimate Asturias travel guide 🇪🇦
ARRIVAL
You can fly into Oviedo (the regional capital of Asturias and one of it's major cities) or arrive there by train or bus from other major cities like Madrid.
You can also drive into Asturias from other regions, it's aproximately a 7 hour drive from Madrid and a 2 hour drive from León.
GETTING AROUND
The easiest way to get around Asturias is by car. I recommend renting a car to explore the remote mountains, beaches and towns. I think this is an absolute must if you're interested in seeing nature and beaches in Asturias.
Take into consideration that you must be at least 20 years old to rent a car in Spain. Some reputable companies are Europcar, Enterprise, Cicar and Avis.
When it comes to walking around it's perfectly safe to do so, including at night in most areas.
As for public transport, Asturias is well linked with other Spanish cities by plane, train and bus, but again, I would recommend driving to move within the region.
