Getting to/from Bocas Del Toro

Best Way: The most convenient option.

Fly into Tocumen International Airport (PYT) in Panama City, Panama. Next transfer to Albrook International Airport (PAC) and fly with Air Panama to Bocas del Toro (BOC). Tip:  Use Uber in Panama City to get from airport to airport to avoid high taxi prices.

Tip: It's important you select the PAC airport code when booking your flights to Bocas, and not the PYT airport code, as Air Panama flies out of Albrook International Airport (PAC) and not Tocumen International Airport (PYT) to get to Bocas del toro. There are currently no available flights from Costa Rica to Bocas del Toro.

Cheapest way: For budget savvy travelers.

From Panama City: Catch the night bus from Albrok Bus Terminal, which costs approximately $40, including the $6 water taxi fare to Isla Colon. Buses depart hourly, and opting for the night bus eliminates the need for a hostel stay.

From Boquete: Take the public bus or a private shuttle. While both options are inexpensive, the public bus is slightly cheaper. Inform the bus driver that you are heading to Bocas, and they will advise you when to disembark. Private shuttle can be arranged in the main area of Boquete through Hello Travel Panama.
