Ponte Vecchio 

Florence’s iconic bridge over the Arno River is filled with artisan jewelry  shops. Its unique architecture make it one of the city’s top photo stops. 

Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza Della Signoria

The town hall of Florence and the Piazza Della Signoria showcase important sculptures including a replica of Michelangelo’s David. Palazzo Vecchio was built in the form of a Palace. It was built to house the government organizations of the republic. In the 16th Century, Cosimo de Medici ordered a restructuring of the building and turned it into his residence.

Santa Croce Basilica 

The final resting place of some famous Italians such as Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo. Towering over the square honoring the same name, this Basilica with its hues of green and pink is a modest highlight of the beautiful city of Florence.

Food & Drink

Florentine Steak 

A must try! This is a TBone cut approximately 3-4 fingers thick and designed to be shared amongst a few people. Often served with roasted potatoes and salad. There is only one way to serve this masterpiece and this is “rare to medium rare”. 

Ribollita 

A hearty Tuscan Soup made with Cannellini Beans, Bread and Vegetables 

Gelato 

Famous Gelterias include Gelateria deli Neri and Vivoli. The trick when looking for excellent gelato is making sure that the colours aren’t too vibrant. As an example, Pistachio flavour shouldn’t be a bright green, it should be a dull green. 

Tuscan Wines 

Chianti made primarily from Sangiovese Grapes. Bright fruit flavours, high acidity, earthy undertones.

Brunello Di Montalcino known for  its rich and complex flavours with notes of cherry, spice and leather. 

Shopping 

Florence is the place to find beautiful hand crafted leather goods and jewelers. Be sure to visit authorised establishments as some street vendors will often sell fake or poor quality items.
