Everywhere we went.
ChurrerĂa El Moro Centro
@chadandclaire
This churrerĂa has been around since 1935, and we recommend you trying the cinnamon and sugar churros with both the thick dipping chocolate AND the Mexicano hot chocolate! They also serve delicious tortas if you're looking for something savory! (This place accepts credit card.)

Tacos El Huequito
@chadandclaire
This amazing taco shop was featured in Season 1 of "Somebody Feed Phil!" Be sure to order the Pastor Especial (absolute must), the Sopa Azteca, Quesadilla Especial (with pastor), and the Taco de Suadero (if you're visiting on a Wednesday or Friday). If you're wanting to try the two most famous drinks in all of Mexico, order the Horchata and the Jamaica! (This place accepts credit card.)

El Cardenal
@chadandclaire
This is a local chain featuring traditional Mexican dishes, and they offer restaurants all around CDMX! For our drink, we ordered the agua de piña con menta (pineapple juice with mint), and for our appetizer, we ordered the ceviche. For our meal, we shared the comforting barbacoa tacos and the complex mole poblano. If you happen to have room for dessert, they offer a delightfully moist tres leches cake! If you find yourself visiting Mexico City in September, you should definitely join in on festivities and order the chiles en nogada! (This place accepts credit card.)

PastelerĂa Ideal
@chadandclaire
This is a highly popular bakery amongst locals and tourists alike! There are so many treats to choose from here, so grab a tray and a pair of tongs, and load up. Make sure that at least one of those baked goods is a vanilla concha muffin! Once you're done, bring your loaded tray over to the pay station in the back right corner. Hand your tray over at the counter, so that they can be packaged away for take-out, and pay with cash at the nearby booth.

PulquerĂa Las Duelistas
@chadandclaire
This is a super local spot specializing in traditional and flavored pulque. We really enjoyed the guava pulque, but other popular flavors are celery, pine nuts, and and oatmeal!

Plaza de la ConstituciĂłn
@chadandclaire
This is a beautiful plaza with a fantastic view of the cathedral. If you happen to visit Mexico City for Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead), you definitely can't miss this spot. They decorate the plaza with lights, flowers, and festive sculptures!

Xochimilco
@chadandclaire
We did a boat tour here and had such a fun time exploring the ancient Aztec canals and floating islands. Of course, we also enjoyed some classic festivities, like playing loterĂa, taking many shots of tequila, and learning how to make an authentic michelada. Here is the tour we used, if you're interested: https://gyg.me/KQMF8pJ9
