Have you heard about AutoPASS?
Basically, if you are travelling to Norway in your own car, you don't need to pay any special attention and can simply drive off. Unlike in other European countries, you don't need a vignette or anything similar. A few weeks after your journey, you will receive a letter with the toll invoice. You then transfer the amount without any additional costs.
BUT: You can save money if you have an Transponder (Chip) in your car.
This is small device, which is attached to the windscreen and is a battery-powered. It automatically transmits the vehicle data at every toll station you pass and records your journeys.
PRO:
- All vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes receive a 20% discount on the toll in Norway.
- AND 50% discount on many Norwegian ferries!
So go and grab your Chip before your journey 🙌🏼
