Bologna La Grassa
Bologna is the capital of the Emilia Romagna region. It is famous for the food, hence the nickname " the fat one".
While walking around Bologna, you will appreciate the "portici", covered sidewalks. There are 38 km or 24 miles of them in town. The longest is the walk up to San Luca.
What to eat:
Emilia Romagna is home to so many of the wonderful Italian pork products. You will of course see a lot of Mortadella, it's not the Boloney you grew up eating. DON'T MISS IT. Mostly cut into paper-thin slices, cut into small squares is a wonderful bite at a wine bar. It's often served with Prosecco.
