The best bookshops in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

L'écume des pages has been the first bookshop where I found a large choice of poetry books, but also philosophy, politics, some good classics in english, travel guides and last but not least : good notebooks from the brand Moleskine. Why is it one of my favourites : Open till midnight everyday, I could easily walk by night and stopped by Café de Flore for a drink, and then wander in the bookshop, for a night reading.

In the beautiful neighbourhood of la Sorbonne, in the Quartier Latin, this beautiful tiny bookshop has been one of my favourites when I was visiting Paris as a tourist. A large choice of books from the Gallimard collection "La Pléiade" at a good price, but also some rare essays, some tiny books from the University of La Sorbonne, and other dusty treasures. I highly recommand this bookshop for the good prices and the fact that nothing is organised : you have to seek for hours, and being rythmed by the silence before reading in the little square in front of La Sorbonne.
