Aloha! I've lived on Oahu since 2009 and these are my favorite "local" beaches.
I spend a lot of lunch hours and "pau hanas" at these beaches and have been taking visiting friends and family to them for years. They are always amazed that there are hardly ever any tourists and so grateful that they got to experience these "secret" special places!
Unlike Waikiki or other well-known, popular beaches such as Lanikai, Hanauma, Sandys, Makapu'u, Sunset and Waimea Bay, my favorite beaches are usually pretty empty, especially on weekdays.
While mostly unknown to tourists, you can easily reach all of them by public transport or rental car.
