Speaking with a native can also prepare you for some of the hurdles that many tourists face is this country, be it transportation, acquiring information about places or general cultural differences. I have also travelled Europe quite extensively and have spent many months living and traveling in various European countries (Norway, Portugal, Sicily, Italy etc).
