Planning to visit Palawan,  but not sure where to go or what to do? I’ve got you covered..

Below are some of my favorite spots from Coron and El Nido. First stop was Coron ‑ We stayed at TAG resort, I can’t recommend this resort enough! Chef Ollie is great at working around and providing options for any dietary requirements you may have.

The staff were so friendly, welcoming and the evening entertainment was different every night and spectacular to watch.

Next stop was El Nido, travel time with the ferry was 4hrs which costs between $30‑$50. *Tickets can be bought at the port.

Our accommodation in El Nido was Terra Sancta Boutique Hotel, booked through Airbnb, a beautiful boho inspired room nestled between trees, which feels like you’re staying in a bamboo treehouse. Amazing place and great location.

Renting a scooter/bike is the easiest option to get around, average cost is $10 a day and easy to find.

We went diving 2 days in El Nido, with Submariner Diving Center and they are fantastic, I highly recommend them, we had a great experience even if you are new to diving they are there to guide you through it, you can also get your divers license with them. They took us to many great spots to see an abundance of sea life. It was a truly memorable trip with amazing experiences, friendly people, accommodating, and helpful.

English is widely spoken, so getting around and finding out information is pretty easy. Palawan’s dry season is between October and May, the best months to visit with temperatures around 27° and no rain is February and March. I will note though we went in June during raining season and in the 14 days we were there we had 2 days with minimal rain.

Now to get into the places to see:

Kayangan Lake

This was the first stop on the Super Ultimate Tour (Booked through the hotel).

Picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains make it the perfect backdrop for photos. It’s a short hike up to the viewpoint which is definitely worth it and then a short walk to a different section of the lake where you can enjoy a swim.

Beach 91, Coron

This was one of the stops on the tour we did from Coron, we had a beach lunch set up for us, which was a memorable experience, (If you take a tour, tell them if you have any dietary requirements and they will be happy and more than willing to accommodate)

This isolated beach, has beautiful rock formations, white sand and crystal clear water. What more could you ask for?

*It's one of the more quiet beaches compared to other well known beaches that are flooded with tourists.

Barracuda Lake Coron Palawan

Take a swim in the depths of Barracuda Lake, (snorkeling equipment is provided by tour guide) and if you’re lucky you may get to see one if not a few Barracuda while snorkeling. They are a rare sighting.

And, if you have the lung capacity to swim all the way to the bottom then you will get experience some hot springs that are on the lake floor.

Cathedral Cave

One of the stops on Tour B from El Nido. Once arriving at this cavern with its towering walls resembling a cathedral’s interior you have just enough time for everyone to get a quick photo op in front of it, and view a bit of the inside without even getting off the boat.

Papaya Beach

We stopped off on a remote beach that had volleyball nets, snorkeling spots and a little stand to buy some drinks and snacks. Great spot to have a little fun.
