Oishi means "delicious" is Japanese. After living in Japan for almost a year, I've stumbled across some pretty "oishi" eats. Here are a few!
Tastes of Tokyo
Harry Potter Cafe
@tayyalissa
The Harry Potter Cafe is a fan-favorite and for good reason! You can try HP-themed food and drinks at this restaurant. Harry Potter merch is also available for purchase. Because this spot is popular, you have to make a reservation ahead of time. I recommend booking about a month in advance because time slots fill up quickly!

Doutor coffee shop Komazawadaigaku-ekimae
@tayyalissa
Doutor is a popular coffee shop all over Japan. You can find it in train stations, or very close to them, and in the cities. Japan is known for its themed foods and drinks, so be sure to try the seasonal items on the menu for a unique experience. My personal favorites are the tuna melt and the matcha (which you can get hot or iced).

Yummy Bites in Yokohama
Eggs ’n Things 横浜マリンタワー店
@tayyalissa
Eggs 'n Things is the perfect brunch spot for the solo traveler, a group of friends, and family. It is located by the Yokohama Marine Tower near the Motomachi-Chukagai train station. Eggs 'n Things is a popular restaurant in Hawaii that made its way to Japan. They just celebrated 50 years in Hawaii! If you love breakfast food items and tropical drinks, Eggs 'n Things is for you!

Unique Eats in Yokosuka
ハンモックカフェ cachette(カシェット)
@tayyalissa
Have you ever eaten at the table while sitting in a hammock? Neither did I until I visited this slice of heaven that is this little café. Perfect for brunch with a small group (of at most 4) or for a solo date, I highly recommend for reasonably priced food that is super kawaii (cute) and delicious. You can visit this café for a full meal or a little sweet treat during your stay in Yokosuka. Cash is king here, so bring yen with you. If you need to convert your currency beforehand, there a few currency exchange spots nearby.

Black Tokyo Store
@tayyalissa
I call this the Trader Joe's of Japan. Located near the Yokosuka Chuo train station, Black Tokyo is the meeting point of Japanese and American products. The staff and owner, Eric Robinson, are a fun bunch and will see to it that you leave Black Tokyo with quality products. You will find an array of wines, teas, pastas, cheeses, and much more! New products coming in frequently, so there is always something new to try. There's no place like Black Tokyo in Japan, so be sure to pop in when in Yokosuka.

CoCo Ichibanya
@tayyalissa
This is an iconic curry restaurant in Japan. Curry from CoCo is life-changing to say the least. There is a wide range of curry options from chicken and pork to meat and seafood. You can fully customize your order or mix it up each time you go!

TULLY'S COFFEE Coaska Bayside Stores Shop
@tayyalissa
This Tully's is one of two in the area, but this location is situated on the 2nd floor of a popular mall called Coaska. Stop by before, after, or during your shopping spree for a quick recharge on caffeine. Try the seasonal food and drink items, especially the sakura flavored beverages during cherry blossom season. There is even a little photo opp moment so you can capture cute pics of your drinks.

TRAVEL TIPS
✨ Bring Japanese yen with you to these restaurants. Major cards like Visa and AMEX are usually accepted, but you can play it safe with yen
✨ Use the trains to get around! A lot of unique food places are located within walking distance from train stations. Google Maps is a great tool to use to see train schedules and map out your routes.
✨ Have FUN! There is much to explore in Japan, especially when it comes to food. Check out my adventures in Japan on my 📸IG: @theworldxtay!
