Como is the most famous city on the lake, but it is also the cradle of Italian rationalist architecture.
Here, I will tell you what to see in terms of architecture and other attractions, where to eat, and some nice nearby villages.

From Milan
If you are in Milan, you can take the train to Como from the main stations. Be aware that in summer it will be very crowded and you might have trouble finding a seat.
If you have a car, you will reach Como in an hour from Milan, and it will be easier to visit the nearby villages.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Irene Chegai
Available for hire
I am an architect living in Milan. I was born in the Marche region and have lived in Turin, Japan, and Barcelona. I have been traveling since I was young, and even today, whenever I have the opportunity, I escape for a weekend, or why not, for a few more days.
I try to include architectural points of interest in my travels as well. What never misses in my travels are tips from locals, good food, and living life to the fullest.
I travel with friends, as a couple, but also by myself!
