Wild Camping the Tour du Mont Blanc

Cable car up to Planpraz to Le Brevent. Approx. €22.50pp 

Hike from Refuge de Bellachat  to Statue du Christ- Roi (2 hrs, 5km, -920m)

Hike from Statue du Christ- Roi to Les Houches (40 mins, 2.4km, -239m,+31m)

Camp at Camping Bellevue. Pay at the campground on arrival.

Hike from Le Brevent to Refuge de Bellachat (1 hr, 2.5km, -372m)

Start at Bellevue Mountain Station and head to Col de Tricot (2:15 hrs, 8.7km, +1258m)

Hike from Les Chapieux to Refuge des Mottets (2 hrs, 6.2 km, +346m, -25m) 

Col de Tricot to Refuge de Miage (1:20 hrs, 2.1km, -558m )

Auberge du Truc to La Frasse (1 hr, 2.6km, -457m) 

La Frasse to Les Contamines- Montjoie (20 mins, 1 km, -105m) 

Stop in Les Contamines- Montjoie for food/groceries 

Walk 2km, or shuttle from Tourist Office of Contamines (shuttle leaves every 30 mins), to Notre Dame de la Gorge

Notre Dame de la Gorge to Chalet Refuge de la Balme (1:30hr, 4.3km, +498m)

        Amenities: Toilets, sinks, water supply

Shorter Alternative: Notre Dame de la Gorge to Bivouac Nant Borrant (1 hr, 2.4km,+329m)  

       Amenities: Water supply 200m from campsite

Refuge de la Balme to Col du Bonhomme (1:40 hr, 4 km, +640m)

     Amenities: Toilets, sinks, water supply, restaurants nearby

Col du Bonhomme to Refuge du Col de la Croix (55m, 2 km, +156m, -39m)

Refuge du Col de la Croix to Les Chapieux (1:30 hr, 4.9 km, -898m) 

Camp before arriving to Les Chapieux for more privacy! After leaving Refuge du Col de la Croix, hike down 10 minutes or less and set up camp on one of the hillsides. This will add an extra 5 km to your day tomorrow, but worth it for the sunset views!

Refuge des Mottets to Col de Seigne (2 hrs, 4.4 km, +643m)  

Col de Seigne is on the border of France and Italy 

Col de Seigne to Rifugio Elisabetta (1 hr, 3.4 km, -343m)

Hike from Rifugio Elisabetta to Cabane du Combal (1 hr, 3.6 km, +26m, -240m)

Cabane du Combal to Rifugio Maison Vieille (2:40 hr, 7.6km, +472m, -488m)

Rifugio Maison Vieille to Dolonne Gondola Station (0.5 hr, 1.9km, +15m, -282m)

Lunch at Rifugio Maison VieilleDolonne Gondola Mountain Station to Dolonne (50 mins, 2.4km, -515m). 

Dolonne to Courmayeur (15 mins, 1.1km), Or take the gondola down to town as the rest of the walk is on a dirt road. 

Stay at the Grand Hotel Royal e Golf for a true R&R. 

Restock food at Supermercato Carrefour Express. 

Do some laundry at Lavanderia La Candida di Sogna Massimiliano. 

Bus to Lavachey to save some energy for the long day ahead.
