Taco Stands (not restaurants)

Puebla & Jalapa
@elizabethbabinski
This street has a ton of great street food vendors. Highly recommend the fried quesadillas outside of Sobremesa.

Quesadillas Doña Mary
@elizabethbabinski
GREAT fried quesadillas! Also, if you want to try a pata tostada...this would be your place. They speak little English, but they're good at working with the bit they know!

Tacos "El Paisa"
@elizabethbabinski
By far, one of my favorite places for street tacos. The older man that works every night seems really cranky, but he's actually the sweetest!

Fancier Restaurants

Maximo Bistrot
@elizabethbabinski
One of my favorite places! You do need a reservation, but they typically have space for walk-ins for lunch.

Fancy Bars

Gin Gin Álvaro Obregón
@elizabethbabinski
If you love gin, this is your place! They also have great appetizers.

Licorería Limantour
@elizabethbabinski
This is one of the few places that has a lot of buzz about it, but even I still like going here. Worth it for at least one drink!

When You're Tired of Mexican Food

Frutos Prohibidos - ROMA
@elizabethbabinski
This is a chain, so there are many locations. I don't know what they do to their salads, but I'm obsessed with them. And I'm not a salad person.

El Jamil
@elizabethbabinski
Their hummus is to DIE for. Seriously, that good.

Unique Shopping

Tianguis de antigüedades
@elizabethbabinski
The park here fills with antique vendors, I believe only on Sundays until sunset. Or at least that's only when I've seen them. Really, really interesting things and not heavy with tourists.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Elizabeth Babinski
Hey there, fellow explorers! I’m Liz, a globe-trotting aficionado who’s made a hobby out of collecting passport stamps. With six continents under my belt and cities like Paris, Barcelona, and Rome as my playgrounds, I’ve learned a thing or two about living life to the fullest. For over a decade, I’ve been blazing my own trail, solo-style. Though, I’m not just a wanderer; I’m a wedding whisperer. For the past decade, I’ve been orchestrating love stories in dreamy destinations across the globe. Think saying “I do” against a Tuscan sunset or exchanging vows under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower—I’ve turned fantasies into realities. As the brains behind Vows Well Traveled, I specialize in crafting intimate weddings and elopements that redefine romance. But if you're not getting married, don't worry! I’m all about the journey, not just the destination. You’ll often find me diving into hidden gems, cozying up in hole-in-the-wall bars, and making friends with locals who know the real heart of a city. All of these I love to share with others. So, why trust me? Because I’ve lived it, breathed it, and turned wanderlust into a way of life. Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic getaway, a spontaneous elopement, or a honeymoon for the books, let’s turn those dreams into reality. Adventure awaits!
