Manhattan may not spring to mind when you’re daydreaming about devouring a beach read poolside, but you may wish you’d considered it if you’re visiting in the summer months. While there are, of course, endless things to eat, drink, and do in New York City, there’s nothing wrong with (and in fact, so many things right about) grabbing some pool time in the city that never sleeps. 2. The Dominick, SOHO

To really transport yourself to that tropical vacation, check out the pool at The Dominick, which offers poolside service from El Ta’Koy, the restaurant’s Hawaiian-inspired restaurant.

Just a four-minute walk from The High Line and a mile from Union Square, this trendy hotel is ideal for guests wanting to stay (and swim) between the Meatpacking District and Chelsea.

Perched just beneath the Empire State Building, the pool at the Royalton Park Avenue offers incredible city views. Cocktails and light bites are served poolside, and if you’re staying at the hotel, you can enjoy the calm before the pool opens up to outside guests after 2 PM.

Perhaps the highest rooftop pool on our list, ModernHaus SOHO’s allows guests to swim among the skyscrapers. Jimmy, the hotel’s rooftop lounge, opens in the afternoon and offers cocktails and snacks.

Open from 7am to 7pm daily, the Gansevort’s heated rooftop pool is open year-round. Note that the pool is family-friendly, and guests can order poolside food and beverage service.
