Yes, it worths

The only thing I heard from people is ‘Does Lyon worth visiting?’ when I said I visited Lyon.

Greetings from Calatrava

Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport
@denizc
You will enter the city from a sumbolic gateway to region which consists of steel and concrete designed by Calatrava. He is known with his vision of “with an adequate combination of force and mass, you can create emotion”. This is a station which has a single great span that will make you feel the scale while running to your train🫠

Appetite 😋

While Lyon is a real gastronomy heaven, my appetite was not at my best. Therefore, I mostly had small portions and tried different things. Note that they created an atmosphere in the city that not just the French cusine but everything I tried from Argantinian cusine to Chinese was greay. Gastronomy kinda creates an ayra for the city 🌸

Arts & Architecture

As I am an architect everybody things that I love museums etc. I am confident about saying ‘no, I do not like that much’. I have a limit, I just give myself one shot at each trip, one museum😌 Rather I go around streets for local typographies and hidden architectural gems🌸

For the museum shot, it was a nice one. Not so tiring but exactly worth a visit 🤩

Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon
@denizc
There are ancient paintings, sculptures, artifacts. The scale of the museum is a really good one when you evaluate from an active tourist view. It will take 1-1.5 hours max and really worth visitimg. Also, the building itaelf is really nice.

The Monkey Club Cocktail Bar
@denizc
aıt was my first night out alone. It was a nice experie ce with great coctails, elegant ceowd and the best music in town🫠 It is kinda coctail bar till 23.00, then the DJ starts performing at the bottom floor. It is small but it was fresh and has the space for the crowd to be dancing🕺🏼

Discolaincourt was performing at Monkey Club and in that small and warm club their energy took all the people, they were also crowded themselves and the crowd was not giant so we all danced all together with them🕺🏼

I also checked this one but it was too much for me. It is much more techno lovers, and it was free with different DJs everyday

Some tourist tricks

Not so much things as it is an underrated city there are no lonnng queues anywhere at restaurants maybe but you need to reserve for sure so that’s not a problem.

City card is the best decision for this city. You can use it at the museums, public transport (you will need it if you want to see more than jıst the very touristic things), observaon wheel, and also some discounts at some shops.

Also there is a version of the card that is valid at airport transportation, it was 60euro, I got that one.

I tried the observation wheel just because it was free with the card🫠

Suggestion for accomodation: small rooms, some facing the shaft but clean and really very well location🤩”stays”
