5 Days | Outback, NSW, Australia | 🇦🇺🦘
The Outback is unlike anywhere else I've ever been, and so quintessentially Australian. It's truly one of those experiences that can only be had in this country. The feelings of Old West permeate even today, whether because of the mining culture or the vast stretches of open plains.
If you have a long vacation in Australia you could certainly drive it, depending on conditions. However with many roads being remote and easily washed out by rain water, many companies offer charter flights. Alternatively there are a few Qantas flights to a few key cities in the Outback, such as Broken Arrow (featured in this guide). We opted to charter a flight from Bathurst just a couple hours outside of Sydney
Bathurst in itself is a fun adventure, especially for the racing enthusiast. We happened to be in town for the Bathurst 1000 in October and my husband attended the race while I took the kids around town to some of the kid friendly museums. From there we flew out on a 3 night adventure in the Outback with our guides Charlie and Tam, owners and pilots with Panair Bathurst.
