Where to Stay

Graduate Columbus
@MappingOurTracks
Not only did this hotel have the cutest décor and the nicest staff, but its location is amazing! Located in the heart of Short North Arts District, you will be surrounded by the best restaurants and shops. Even though it was out first time here, this hotel definitely made us feel like locals. Highly recommend!

Where to Grab a Bite

The Roosevelt Coffeehouse
@MappingOurTracks
We love supporting businesses that try to make the world a better place. This awesome coffee shop supports organizations that fight global hunger, unclean water, and human trafficking. If you are around the area, be sure to swing by and try their delicious pop tarts.

Let’s just say we have the biggest sweet tooth when it comes to pastries, and this place did not disappoint! The croissants along with the eclairs made our day. It was incredibly hard to decide what to grab, since everything looked so good. Get ready to spend some time deciding which goodies to get.

North Market Downtown
@MappingOurTracks
Being the big foodies we are, this was an amazing stop for us. To be quite honest, I don’t think we have anything comparable in Chicago. It was refreshing to see all these amazing 30 vendors under one roof, showcasing what Ohio has to offer. You can easily lose yourself wandering around, trying to figure out what to eat.

Del Mar SoCal Kitchen

If you stay at the Graduate Hotel, this restaurant is right across the street, which is the perfect combo. Our server Jonathan provided us with awesome recommendations to try, being our first time there. Let’s just say we left dinner very full and happy and would highly recommend making a reservation if you are nearby.

The second we saw photos of this place, we knew we wanted to check it out. It’s like a glow in the dark Alice in Wonderland vibe that is suitable for all ages. I am sure kids were having a blast, with all the 40 rooms there, but so were we! You are allowed and actually encouraged to explore and touch this unique immersive art to become one with what it has to offer. Take your time exploring here, there are many hidden passageways that are easy to miss.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

This park is amazing for a stroll along the river with views of the city. It provides plenty of parking, awesome trails, a dog park, and downtown views for days. Fun fact: the biggest free outdoor climbing wall in the COUNTRY is located in this park. If you are up for an adventure, this is the place to be!

Short North Arts District
@MappingOurTracks
Located right outside of downtown Columbus, this cute district has everything from boutiques like Ladybird and Red Giraffe Designs, to bars, to the coolest wall art. While you stay here, make sure to spend some time walking around this area. Since Ohio is huge on football, if you happen to be here during a game, make sure to stop by one of the bars to enjoy the atmosphere!
