CMT = Cut, make, trim (use your own fabrics)

I find the quality of suit construction generally higher in Hanoi/HCMC for the mid-level priced tailors mentioned here, and priced lower than in Bangkok (BKK) - for 2 reasons:  Many Vietnamese fitters are drafters and cutters themselves and their in-house team of makers are very skillful IF you request for specific features or ask them to copy (if you did not request - they may think you are ignorant and skip because for Vietnamese tailors there isn't a published price list with published features of a suit, trousers or shirt - a lot depends on communication, negotiation and relationship.) Once past the stage of overcharging of ignorant foreigners (by proving you are not ignorant), Vietnamese tailors value relationships and can sometimes offer to do minor jobs for free - so i did not have to pay extra for half lining construction, pick stitching or functional cuffs etc and sometimes they help to do minor alterations of other clothes for free or give me a free shirt. However, their hardware like buttons, side adjusters may not be very high quality given their low price point.

Hence, if you are making a suit or trousers, I would recommend Vietnamese tailors in this guide.

Bangkok(BKK) tailors, on the other hand, are better at tailoring shirts. The shirts can have different customisations like name embroidery, different collar fabrics and mother-of-pearl buttons.  Many of them stock branded shirting fabrics, Giza cotton fabrics and some of them can do one piece collar shirts. Most of them can deliver tailored clothes to your hotel for free.

Hence, if you are making shirts, i would recommend BKK tailors.
