How to spend a day in Seattle
A visit to the Starbucks Roastery
Start your day with a visit to the Starbucks Roastery, just a few blocks away from the original store. It's a unique space that is worth a visit.
They serve amazing breakfast and of course the perfect coffee blend.
Pike Place Market
Seattle's original farmers market, if you are looking for locally sourced, artisan and a range of specialty foods then this is the place to visit. It has a great vibe and definitely a well known attraction within the city of Seattle.
Seattle Space Needle
The infamous observation deck, tickets can be purchased online, they range from $35-$60 depending on times you want to go and add-ons such as the galleries, glasshouse and garden entry.
The views are incredible, it's also has the world's first revolving glass floor. Be sure to try go on a clear day.
Ferry to Bainbridge Island Day Trip
Take the ferry from Seattle Pier 52 to Bainbridge island for the day. Bainbridge Island is an island that is entirely surrounded by salt water and known for its natural beauty and rustic character. The crossing time to Bainbridge is about 35 minutes and offers a spectacular view of Seattle’s skyline across Elliott Bay.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket counter, (walk-on passengers are advised to be at the pier with enough time to beat lines at the ticket counters, but 15 minutes before scheduled departure should be plenty of time), tickets are $9.25 for adults.
Things to do in Bainbridge:
Hiking- Hawley Cove Trail, a trail that starts from the waterfront park close to the ferry terminal, you can choose between the 2 mile western loop or 1.5 mile eastern loop. The eastern loop takes you along the beach and the woods and the western loop offers parks, restaurants and historical sites. Both trails and walkable within an hour.
Water Sports- A short walking distance from the ferry pier you can find places that rent kayak, canoe and paddle board. In case you don’t feel comfortable yet on any of these, experienced guides are happy to give you an introduction and may even tell you about spots worth paddling to.
Shopping and Restaurants- Downtown Winslow is known for its cozy, cute little shops and restaurants and is definitely worth a stroll.
