Accommodations
You have a variety of accommodations to choose from in Fort Davis. Pick a campsite in Davis Mountains State Park, get a room at the Indian Lodge (the only hotel owned and operated by the state of Texas!), or stay in town at Stone Village Tourist Camp or The Limpia Hotel!

More than 100 campsites ranging from full hookups to primitive camping! Be aware of the javelinas! They WILL get into your food and if you leave it out! I have seen them destroy tents that had food in them. You don’t want to be without a tent because there isn’t a Walmart to run to so you can buy another one. Be smart. Also fun fact - javelinas are more closely related to hippos than to pigs!
Davis Mountains State Park offers more than 15 miles of hiking trails. My personal favorite is the Indian Lodge trail combined with the Montezuma Quail trail for a challenging hike with beautiful views. Drive up to the top of Skyline Drive for great photo ops! For a more rugged hike, head to the overlook in Limpia Canyon Primitive Area! You’ll need to register at HQ to use the primitive area.
