Hurghada
Hurghada is approximately a 5-6 hour flight from the UK depending where you are. Flights are pretty cheap especially with Wizz Air from London but you can get decent prices with Tui.
You can pick up a sim card in the airport the WiFi in the hotels aren't the best. You could also use an ESim.
On arrival you will need to purchase a visa or you can do it online. It is 25 USD or 20 GBP but please check the website before you visit if you are reading this after October 2024.

The best time to visit Egypt for weather depends on what you want to do and your tolerance for heat:
Spring and autumn
March to May and September to November are the most comfortable months to visit. Temperatures are pleasant and there's lots of sunshine. However, spring can bring the khamsin, a hot sand wind that can last a few hours.
Winter
December and January are the coolest months, with average highs in the low 20s. However, evenings can be chilly. January is also peak season, so expect large crowds.
Summer
June through August are the hottest months, with highs that can reach 40°C. Summer is great for snorkeling, but the heat can be demanding in crowded areas.
Cruising the Nile
Some places along the Nile, like Luxor and Aswan, can get very hot in the summer. Most cruise ships are air-conditioned, but some feluccas are not.
