1 WEEK IN FIJI
TRANSPORTATION
It's important to note that Fiji is made up of several islands, 300+ to be exact. While there are transportation options available, its key to consider the amount of travel time it'll take for you to get to one island or another. That said, if you are only traveling for a week or 10 days, I recommend staying in island groups near by each other.
Malolo Cat
To get to the Mamanuca Islands, you can conveniently take the Malolo Cat ferry at a reasonable cost. The ferry departs from Port Derarnau, and has several drop off points. The ferry will drop you off essentially at your resort. The ferry is two-levels, spacious, and has seats both indoors and outdoors. Depending on the time of day, it could get crowded, but the earliest ferry - which is at 7:30a - is pretty vacant. The ferry runs 4 times a day. The timetable and schedule is conveniently available on the site, and you can reserve your tickets - one-way or roundtrip - ahead of time.
If you're intending on heading straight to the Mamaucas straight from the airport, you can also purchase a fare that includes transportation cost from Nadi International Airport to the port. The van drive is roughly 20 mins from the airport to the port.
SeaFiji
If you are interested in a private ferry transfer, that is also available but at a higher cost. One of the popular options below. You can take this from the mainland to the Mamanuca Islands (which roughly takes 45 mins), from the Mamanuca Islands to the Yasawa Islands (which roughly takes 2.5-3 hours depending on your drop off location), and from the Yasawa Islands to Port Deranau (roughly 3.5 hours). The cost varies on the number of people and distance.
