Off-leash Dog Parks
For your energetic and friendly pal, these off-leash dog parks give you the freedom to let your dogs run wild. Most parks are fenced in but some are not. Remember to pick up after your pooch and follow the rules of each park as posted.
Sandy River Delta - It's the largest off-leash dog park 20 minutes East of Portland and well worth the drive. You'll have 1400 acres of open fields, and 2 rivers for your dog to swim in.

Dog-Friendly Hikes
My favorite thing about Portland is there are so many places to hike, walk, and be outdoors. These city hikes are some of my favorite, and of course, they're dog-friendly. As you get further down the list, the hikes get further away from the city but that's not a bad thing! If you time it right, you can have some trails all to yourself.
This is the only State Park in Oregon's major metropolitan area. Some fun trails are: Trillium Trail (easy, 0.6 miles) Old Main to Red Fox Trail (easy, 2 miles) Triple Bridge Loop (Moderate, 3.5 miles)
With over 5200 acres and 40 access points, Forest Park hiking is a great choice! On-leash trails include: Skyline Cruise Trail (moderate, 3 miles) Wildwood Trail (easy to hard, up to 30 miles) Redwood observation deck (easy, 0.3 miles) Forest Park Ridge Trail (moderate, 4.5 miles)
