Hiking Route to Puig de Galatzó
@paulareyes
The hike to Puig de Galatzó offers an exhilarating adventure through one of Mallorca’s most picturesque landscapes, the majestic Serra de Tramuntana, all while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the island! Starting from the Andratx–Estellencs road, the trail begins at kilometer 97, where a right turn marks the start of the route. Parking is available along the roadside and the path is well-marked throughout the hike. As you ascend, you'll encounter unique heritage sites such as traditional lime kilns and charcoal burners, reflecting the area's historical resource utilization, making the route even more captivating and enriching 😍 ⚠️ To ascend, always follow the signs for Puig de Galatzó. For the descent, continue along Font de Dalt, which then turns into Pas de Na Sabatera/Boal de Ses Serveres (the recreational area, from where you can return to the start of the hike). 🏔️ Summit of Galatzó 1027m 🥾Difficulty Rating: Moderate ⏳Time/Distance: ~5h/12Km

Hiking Route Biniaraix - Cuber
@paulareyes
This is probably the most attractive and complete hiking route in the surroundings of the Sóller Valley ❤️ You'll have the chance to walk through zigzagging stone paths that showcase a perfect mix of captivating nature and impressive human craftsmanship. No wonder it has been recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site! Begin your journey in the charming village of Biniaraix, close to Sóller, accessible via S’Alqueria des Compte. The route starts as a cart path amidst olive groves, gradually transforming into a footpath as you cross the Torrent de l’Ofre for the first time. You'll leave the Es Barranc path to the right, and at one point, you'll reach the S’Estret barrier, where rocks narrow the path, and the river and trail meet. So, it's time to cross the river again via a stone bridge and continue climbing! Along the way, you'll pass iconic spots like the D’en Mena caves, the Es Cans waterfall, and the Sa Campana stalactite. After that, head towards Coll de l’Ofre, where you'll be able to enjoy stunning views. Follow the left-hand path down through the Coll de l’Ofre, past the nearby houses of Binimorat, leading easily to the Cúber reservoir. Skirt around it to the right, and near the Es Noguer spring, you'll find a recreational area 😊 ⚠️ For a shorter and easier hike, you can stay at the Coll de l’Ofre viewpoint and turn back. From this vantage point, you'll enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of the entire Cúber lake! 🏔️ Maximum altitude: 934m 🥾Difficulty Rating: Moderate ⏳Time/Distance: ~6h/14Km

Hiking Route Around Puig Roig
@paulareyes
This route is a classic in the Sierra de Tramontana and shouldn't be missed! 😍 It's a long loop with minimal elevation gain and offers stunning views of Mallorca's North Coast. Along the way, we'll pass by beautiful historic and traditional properties, such as the Carabineros Barracks, the Lluc Sanctuary, the Mossa Estate, the Cosconar Houses, the Aubarca Estate, and the Coll des Ases. The hike begins at km 17 of the Ma-10 road, between Lluc and Pollença. Just past this point on the left, you'll find the des Pixarells Recreation Area, where parking is available. We start walking toward Pollença for about 2 km, where we'll cross the gate of the Mossa property. Just before reaching it, we'll turn right onto a steep, stepped path. A few meters later, we’ll arrive at Coll des Ases, which offers breathtaking views ❤️ (Skip the detour to Puig de Caragoler de Femenias and the markers for the ascent to Puig Roig, since they are not our goal today). Instead, continue to Pas de’n Segarra, which provides one of the best panoramic views of the island's northern coast. The route continues along the west side of Puig Roig, where the path is lined with tall grasses and offers views of the historic Carabineros Barracks in the distance. Soon, we’ll cross a gate in a stone wall, where the path splits: right leads to the Carabineros Barracks and left to the Cosconar Houses. We’ll take the left path toward the Cosconar Houses, a true gem of rural architecture (if you want to see the Carabineros Barracks, feel free to detour!). From Cosconar, we begin a lovely 5 km descent through olive trees toward the grand Aubarca House, crossing the Torrente de Binifaldó and passing beautiful houses such as C’as Escribá, Son Llovera, and Ca’n Pontico. Here, we turn right to start a short but steep ascent to the Lluc Monastery. Once we reach it, we cross the Plaza de los Peregrinos and take the old road, soon diverting to the football field. At the end of the field, we turn left and cross a small bridge to continue along the path back to Es Pixarells, our starting point. ⚠️ This hike can only be done on Sundays, as the owners of the Menut property we need to pass through open their doors only on that day. 🏔️ Maximum altitude: 720m 🥾Difficulty Rating: Moderate ⏳Time/Distance: ~8h/23Km

Massanella's Hiking Route
@paulareyes
If hiking is your passion, this route is a MUST! The Puig de Massanella, the second highest peak in the Serra de Tramuntana (the highest being Puig Major), is an incredibly popular excursion that I am sure you're going to love! You can leave your car at the Lluc Sanctuary (paid parking) and follow the GR-221 trail towards Casa de Neu d’en Galileu. Shortly after, you’ll need to cross the Ma-10 road and continue ascending. At an altitude of 870m, you’ll encounter the first Casa de Son Macip. The ascent then takes you up the spectacular Voltes d'en Galileu, where the landscape transforms and unveils stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea 😍 Continuing along the GR-221, you’ll see a detour leading to Puig d’en Galileu, but we must follow our path heading towards Puig de Massanella. After passing Coll des Prat, you'll reach a junction where you leave the GR-221 and take the left path. Soon, you’ll arrive at Coll de n'Argentó, where you turn left for a steep climb - 🚨- to the summit. The effort is rewarded with breathtaking views of the Tramuntana from the peak of Massanella! For the descent, follow the stone-marked path towards Pla de Sa Neu. Eventually, you'll reach a junction where the Camí de la Font de l'Avenc merges with our trail. Take the left path, and continue descending towards Finca Comafreda. Once you pass through it, you’ll reach the Ma-2130 road. Follow it until you pass the Repsol station, then cross the Ma-10 and descend the paved section straight to the Lluc Sanctuary parking area. ⚠️ You'll have to pay 6€ to pass through the Finca Comafreda, since is a private property, although, if you're lucky, you won't find anyone at the checkpoint and you’ll avoid paying! 🏔️ Maximum altitude: 1,308m 🥾Difficulty Rating: Challenging ⏳Time/Distance: ~6h/17Km
