Calming Roam Around For 7 Hours at PIK, Jakarta
• This itinerary assumes that you will get around by using ride-hailing apps such as Gojek or Grab (an online transportation apps). Grab and Gojek may be more familiar for those of you who had travelled around the other parts of Southeast Asia and they do offer auto-translation for you as drivers may send you messages in Bahasa Indonesia.
• Jakarta's public transportation system isn't the most reliable, comfortable, or convenient for foreign travelers. Given that most car rides you will take should cost you under USD 10, I'd recommend to just sticking to getting around by ride-hailing.
• Given to our tropical climate, sun always shine through January to December in Indonesia, but the weather can be unpredictable sometime. A thin-airy shirt with a thigh length shorts would do the job just fine when it's hot. But, I would recommend you to wear and bring a sunscreen, a hat, and/or an umbrella just in case the cloud suddenly decided to pour its rain.
• I'd also recommend you to go to a money changer first to exchange your currency with IDR. Don't worry, I believe that every airport has one and if you don't see any, you could go here!
Places To Visit:
Pantjoran PIK
Let's start the trip with some highlights of Indonesian Cuisine at Pantjoran PIK.
Or, were you tired and just want to walk around for a while? I got you! Pantjoran PIK actually offer more than just food-hunting spots. You could walk around and enjoy the Chinese decorations around before you take a picture with the Pagoda on your background.
La Riviera
After fueling your energy at Pantjoran PIK, strolling around in La Riviera PIK would be best for you because of what it offers for you! There's a boat attraction where you could ride to go around the river and with the replica of the European-like building designs, it is a photogenic spots to post in your insta!
Taman Doa Hati Tersuci Maria
And, we've come to the calming part (for Christian or if you want to learn more about it) of this itinerary. In Taman Doa Hati Tersuci Maria you could do Via Dolorosa and reminiscing Jesus' sacrifices.
Taman Doa Our Lady of Akita PIK 2
For you Catholic devotees who want to see the statue of the Virgin Mary who shed tears in Japan, now a replica of the statue is in the Our Lady of Akita Prayer Park PIK 2. This is the first replica in the world carved by wood expert Ichiro Urano San himself.
Batavia PIK
And, last but not least (well, definitely least on this itinerary though), Batavia PIK is a must to visit for me. You could skip both of the Prayer Park and could visit this place immediately after going to La Riviera. Here in Batavia PIK, you can do food hunting and sightseeing the calming view of Mangrove and sea together. Or, you can rent a bike to cycle around the place!
And, that's about it of this itinerary! I'm glad if you found this helpful and enjoy your visit
