A Siesta in San Miguel de Allende

A Siesta in San Miguel de Allende

Inspired by the travel show, The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, I went to San Miguel de Allende because of the gigantic, pink, Gothic church in the city's center. As a solo traveler, I consider safety and being aware of my surroundings, however, the city of San Miguel was a wonderful experience. This first visit to central Mexico was a blend of a personal getaway and scouting locations to host a wellness retreat. Join me as I highlight all the places I visited with a few bonuses.

I do not recommend this place to stay but they do have great octopus & pork tacos on the Rooftop. Their food is amazing but I wouldn't stay there again.

There are three airport options for San Miguel de Allende: Guanajuato International Airport, Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (in Mexico), and Querétaro International Airport. Once you've settled, I always recommend a food tour or a sightseeing activity that allows you to explore the area you are visiting with the safety of a group. You may be a tourist, but it is better than standing out alone.  The food tour was hosted by Victor, who was as passionate about culinary experiences as he was about San Miguel. We learned the history of this beautiful city and its role in the Mexican Revolution.
