Useful info's for Quebec province
Dear traveler,
Quebec is a bit different than other province in Canada.
That's why I thought you should be prepared so you can enjoy and have fun while you travel!
1. The legal currency is Canadian dollars
2. To enter pubs, bars, nightclubs, casinos, to buy and consume alcohol you must be at least 18 years old. Be prepared to have an ID with you!
3. Cannabis is legal in Canada, but you must be at least 21 years old to buy and consume.
4. You are not allowed to smoke in any public establishment including bars, restaurants, pubs, terraces etc.
5. Quebec has 2 taxes:
- the 5% federal goods and services tax ( GST)
- the 9.975% QC sale tax (OST)
6. If your driver's license is not in English or French, you must have an international driver's license before you leave your home country.
7. Tipping is customary in restaurants, bars and taxi. The amount is not included in your bill and is generally 15% or more of the total bill, before taxes.
