Here are some places to stay when you visit the famous Mystic Falls.
The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast
This amazing Bed and Breakfast was of course used in the filming of TVD. They have two TVD themed rooms; one is The Salvatore Brothers Study and the other is Katherine’s Mirror Image Suite.
Caroline Forbes House Air BNB
YES! You can stay in Caroline Forbes’ house from the show. And let me say it is AMAZING. The house itself is gorgeous, and it feels like stepping into the show itself. This house was one of the locations used for exterior and some interior filming. You’ll feel truly epic when you stay here. Plus there are little extra touches all over like a diary to write about your stay, complimentary stickers, and vervain soap! Bonus: Right next door is Elena’s house and right around the corner is the Lockwood Mansion.
Salvatore Mansion Replica Airbnb
This was one of my absolute favorite places to stay! This is a MUST! They have prop replicas, and the decor is spot on. Even the cast love it!
The Hideaway Themed Airbnb
Mystic Manor B&B
This B&B has not opened yet, but they will have different rooms each themed after characters’ rooms in the show. We are so excited for the opening of this amazing place!
The Lockwood Mansion Air BNB
The Lockwood Mansion just opened its gates to allow guests to stay on the Lockwood property! The carriage house was transformed into a cute air bnb for TVD fans. The iconic backyard was home to scenes like Caroline and Stefan’s wedding, the famous masquerade, Miss Mystic Falls, and Mikael’s funeral thrown by Klaus. They even recreated Caroline’s wedding arch for photo ops! The booking of the house does also come with an exclusive look inside the mansion itself.
The Lockwood Mansion Next Door Air BNB
This is the second air bnb mentioned in the video! It is the Lockwood Mansion’s next door neighbors, and it costs a fraction of the price of the Lockwood Mansion stay. You can see the entire mansion’s backyard from your patio! Both experiences are amazing and I recommended doing both!
Horse Ranch in Oxford Air BNB
This is a pet friendly option which I LOVED about 7 minutes from Covington Square. This is a peaceful horse ranch with amazing amenities and awesome hosts. I’ve stayed here twice now, and it was flawless each time. They have the option to ride horses as well which I HIGHLY recommend doing. You get to feed the horses carrots and enjoy some peaceful time with nature. They even have add ons like chocolate covered strawberries!
These are three honorable mentions I’ve stayed at that were also amazing!

I call this the Bread and Butter Air BNB because it’s owned by the owner of Bread and Butter Bakery! When you stay here they even have complimentary coffee that is sold at their shop.
Where to Eat
Obviously, Mystic Grill.
AMAZING. FOOD. Make advanced reservations! They have great food and unique cocktails. The building used to be an old Pharamcy! The interior is super cute. Also, get the raw oysters😍 They are opening a new restaurant on the square soon too!
Amazing for breakfast and coffee! Pro tip: they sell wine blood bags here and hibiscus tea blood bags. They carry Damon’s Bourbon Infused Compulsion coffee and Bonnie’s Mystical Tea! You can also get the Ripper Drink which is an energy drink they hand craft. Lastly, the food here is amazing. You have to get the GOAT bagel sandwich and the Spinach Feta Puff Pastry.

This is the Prison World grocery store used in filming! Make sure to pick up your pork rinds like Kai Parker. If you do visit here to see the filming location, please try to buy something to support their store!

What to Do
Take a TVD Tour
I cannot stress this enough, but please please take both tours. They show you different locations and both tours get you into exclusive locations that you cannot get to unless you’re on the tour. For example, the Stalker Tour gets you onto the Lockwood Mansion property which you can only do on the tour or by booking the air bnb. The Main Street EPIC tour gets you onto the Vampire Tomb House property, Alaric and Jo’s wedding venue, Freya and Keelin’s wedding location, Bonnie’s safe house, and Enzo’s death scene. These can only be seen in this tour. On both of these tours you have the possibility of running into current filming which is so cool. For more info on locations check out their websites above!
Mystic Mercantile
This gorgeous place is located on the town square! The Mystic Mercantile has rebuilt the Salvatore Mansion grand room using real set pieces including the bricks, and the set designers for TVD came to put it together! Let’s break it down. The original Salvatore Mansion from early episodes of TVD was torn down so they recreated it on a set for the majority of the show. That set was eventually taken apart and pieces were sold. Mystic Mercantile took these set pieces and the OG set designers and recreated this gorgeous room for fans to enjoy for years to come. Side note: in Legacies and some episodes of Originals when you see the Salvatore Boarding School (which is supposed to be what the Salvatore Mansion turned in to) it’s actually a whole separate building that is still standing and can be seen from a distance as it is private property!
Rent a Golf Cart
A lot of places can be reached by golf cart, but definitely not all. From WPG, There’s one even signed by Ian (aka Damon)! You can call and special request this cart.
Shop in Town Square
This is a TVD store and museum located in the alley next to Mystic Grill (which is also a filming location). They have a few candles that the cast themselves chose the scents for.
This is also a TVD store which has props used from the show. They have amazing apparel and their candle collection is top notch.
This is an exterior filming location where you can see Dr. Gilbert’s name on the window as this was his office. Dr. Elena Gilbert has her name there as well. On the inside they sell amazing art. They have TVD themed pieces and vampire painted jean jackets. They sell paint your own pieces inspired by TVD as well.
This place was astonishing. All of the create your own bath products were super fun as well as the TVD themed section.
Where you go to taste some of the best olive oils, balsamics, and wines! They even have blood bags here.

See the Welcome Center and TVD museum
This is where you’ll find lot and lots of TVD props and the Welcome to Mystic Falls sign! It’s a must. And right next to it you’ll find Heirloom Park where you can check out all of the notable movies and shows that were filmed in Covington. They just opened their brand new section with a replica of Damon’s room!

TVD was constantly shooting scenes here and at the houses right around here. Other shows like Sweet Magnolias and more used this park as well. The Delena kiss scene and John/Jenna’s funeral happen here!

Mikaelson Manison

It was Evander Holyfield’s house but is now owned by Rick Ross. He does a car show annually and if you get tickets, that is the only time you can see the inside. This is where the Mikaelson’s host their ball, and the scene is shot inside the home as well.
