Do's
- Respect Local Customs and Traditions: Bali is deeply rooted in Hindu traditions and customs. Show respect by dressing modestly and appropietly when visiting sacred areas and public places.
- Respect the sanctity of temples, sacred statues, and religious symbols.
- Ask Permission for Photos: Always ask for permission before taking someone's photo, especially during ceremonies or in rural areas.
- Barter Politely: When bargaining in local markets, be polite and respectful during negotiations.
- Dispose of Trash Properly: Help manage waste by disposing of trash responsibly and considering recycling.
- Be Patient in Traffic: Stay patient in Bali's traffic, use your horn sparingly, and exercise caution when driving or walking.
Don'ts
- Trespass sacred territories: Steer clear of puras and pelinggihs - unless you’re there for a Balinese traditional ceremony, during which you must wear the appropriate attire, and you’re not menstruating.
- Climbing sacred trees and sacred structures, and taking inappropiate or nude photos.
- Driving scooter withour helmet and proper license.
💬 Language
The official language of Bali is Bahasa Indonesia, but Balinese is also widely spoken. English is commonly used in tourist areas, so basic English phrases will suffice. Learning a few Bahasa Indonesia greetings and phrases can enhance your experience and show respect to the locals.

🇮🇩 Visa Options

Visa rules and fees may change, so it's essential to have the most up-to-date information to ensure a smooth entry and stay in Bali.
1. Visa Exemption
Some nationalities can enter Bali without a visa for short visits, typically up to 30 days (non-extendable). This is known as a "visa-free entry." You'll receive a stamp in your passport upon arrival, indicating the date by which you must leave Indonesia.
2. Tourist Visa on Arrival (VOA)
If your nationality is not eligible for visa-free entry, you can obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival (VOA) upon landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport or other entry points in Indonesia. This visa valid for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days while in Bali.
3. Single-Entry Business Visa B211
Use this visa if you plans to visit Indonesia for the purpose of tourism, government duties, business, purchase of goods, meetings, arts and culture, pre-investment, or transit. It will give you non-extendable 60 days.

📱 SIMCards & Internet
1. SIM Cards
When you arrive at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and plan to purchase a local SIM card, it's essential to be aware of the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) registration process, which is a government requirement in Indonesia. The registration process differs for short-term tourists and those staying longer.
- If you're going to stay in Indonesia for less than 90 days, you can purchase a local SIM card from providers like Telkomsel, XL, or Indosat at the airport or visit the official mobile operator's office with your passport and phone. They will register your IMEI number for free.
- If you have long term visa and intend to stay in Indonesia for more than 90 days and want to use your phone, you must register your IMEI with customs. To unlock IMEI in Bali, the registration is free for phones worth less than $500 if done on the day of arrival. Foreigners must pay a 40% tax on the cost of the mobile phone exceeding $500 if registering on the arrival day.

Rent portable Wi-Fi devices at the airport or from local providers for constant connectivity.

Bali has an extensive network of ATMs. You can withdraw cash from ATMs using your debit or credit card. Common Indonesian bank such as BCA, Mandiri, BNI. Just be aware of potential ATM fees, and inform your bank of your travel plans to avoid card issues. Always exercise caution when using ATMs, and shield your PIN when entering it.
4. Currency Exchange Offices
Exchange your foreign currency at authorized currency exchange offices or banks for Indonesian Rupiah. Rates may vary, so compare before exchanging.
5. Digital Payment Apps
Apps like Go-Pay, OVO, and LinkAja are popular for small transactions at merchants that accept payment with QRIS, like cafés, restaurant including public bus in Bali.

Airport taxis are readily available at the airport. They are metered, and the fare will depend on the distance to your hotel. Ensure the meter is running to avoid overcharging.
2. Ride-Sharing Apps (e.g., Grab, Go-Jek)
You can use ride-sharing apps like Grab and Go-Jek to book a ride from the airport. It's a convenient and often cost-effective option.
3. Private Airport Transfer
