Where it all starts...

Day 1 - Landing on Mahe and getting to Praslin

Seychelles International Airport
@aniakepa
Remember to exchange money here and buy public transport card

Before you will hop on the small plane/ferry to Praslin remember to do few things at the airport.

- exchange the money - there will be other places but airport had the best exchange rate

- buy public transport card

- check in for your 20 minutes flight

It's quite a ride so even though it is more expensive than ferry you want to experience that.

Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites
@aniakepa
Fully recommend this place. Check the dates of the free trips to plan your trip accordingly if possible. There is no option to buy transport card here although they are on the official sellers site.

We booked our stay in this hotel and we can surely recommend it.

For dinners we went to a la carte restaurant (Hibiscus restaurant) which is cheaper then buying the buffet.

They also have plenty of vegetarian meals so this is not an issue.

Day 2 - Exploring Curieuse Island

Must have on Seychelles.

Book this trip to Curieuse Island to see Giant Turtles in advance as the places are limited and for sure you cannot skip this one. We used GetYourGuide tours.

Curieuse Marine National Park
@aniakepa
There will be small trekking part (really easy), but take something to cover up the swimsuit.

Details

During the trip you will also have 2 snorkelling spots, where you can meet marine life - sea turtles including if you are lucky.

I need to show you also the sunset we experienced when we got back to the hotel.

Day 3 - Exploring Praslin Island

On this day we were using public transport to move around - we needed 5 rides in total so 50 rupees per person.

Vallee de Mai is national park which offers plenty of trekking trails to choose from. We chose the longest route and this was the best option as most of the guided tours are doing the short circle.

Vallée de Mai, Praslin, Seychelles
@aniakepa
Choose the longest route - there will be less big trips and as a result more animals to enjoy. :)

Walking through the Praslin jungle on a mission to find black parrots and coco de mer palms. :)

After the small trekking here we decided to visit one more place.

Praslin National Park Waterfall
@aniakepa
The road that leads to this waterfall is up and down so make sure you have enough water supplies with you.
Add to
Details

The access to it is restricted although everyone is passing it. The water breeze is really refreshing and the road that lead to it, is really scenic.

Anse Lazio
@aniakepa
As an alternative you can chose to go to Anse Georgette, but to do so you need to book a ticket.

Pro tip: if you stay at Coco de Mer Hotel check with them the days they have free trips to this place.

Anse Volbert
@aniakepa
Don't eat at Leo's Food Truck, despite good reviews we were quite disappointed. Coconuts are available to buy on the main streets :)
Add to
Details

I am not going to share here the spot we ate as they weren't good although the reviews were high.

The most scenic place here is the lying palm which is basically spot for people to meet. :)

After this we came back to the hotel for the sunset.

Protip: sunset on Seychelles starts after the sun is already down, so don't leave just after sun disappears from the horizon.

Day 4 - Relax on Praslin and sightseeing of north La Digue

Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites
@aniakepa
Fully recommend this place. Check the dates of the free trips to plan your trip accordingly if possible. There is no option to buy transport card here although they are on the official sellers site.

Our hotel was providing some water sports like kayaks and SUP's for free so in the morning we decided we want to enjoy still the time left for us and chose to swim on SUP's.

Praslin Ferry Terminal
@aniakepa
Trip to the ferry cannot be done by bus - you need to take a taxi. Prices starts from 30 euro.

Details

After this short morning relax we hop on the ferry to La Digue. The journey last 20 minutes so don't worry about the sea sickness.

Bernique
@aniakepa
Only cash payments, please take that into account.

This time instead of the hotel we chose guesthouse, to have more local experience.

Remember that La Digue is car free island so you need to rent a bike.

Rey & Josh Cafe Takeaway
@aniakepa
BEST TAKEAWAY ON SEYCHELLES.
Add to
Details

Before we started to explore we needed to have some lunch. This is how we ended up in the best takeaway on the whole Seychelles. Go there quite early as in the evening there is a really big que and the dishes are quickly sold out.

Anse Grosse Roche
@aniakepa
On this beach there is also lying palm on which you can take pictures.

Anse Severe
@aniakepa
You can enjoy sunset here.

Bikini Bottom
@aniakepa
Quite expensive, like every popular place on Seychelles.
Add to
Details

You can choose the beaches along the north coast of La Digue as you wish. We decided to spend some time on above 2, although Anse Grosse is really long one.

Day 5 - Exploring South La Digue

For us the day started with rain, but this didn't scared us.  Even better, because we were almost alone everywhere :)

Grand Anse Beach
@aniakepa
Riding a bike to this place is easy, getting back to town no so easy. The mountain you need to get onto is quite hard, so most probably you will walk as we did.
Add to
Details
Petite Anse Beach
@aniakepa
Looks the same as Grand Anse, so we choose to go further. :)
Add to

Anse Cocos beach
@aniakepa
Best beach on which you can swim without fear of any sea currents due to natural swimming pool. Although you need 1h to get here.
Add to
Details

Those 3 beaches are next to each other. You will leave your bike near to Grand Anse and you need to go by foot to the others. Total route took us 1h one way, so take that into account.

Protip: take trekking shoes if you have ones.

If you love nature try to get to Anse Cocos as first thing in the morning. There is a possibility to meet there small sharks in the natural swimming pool.

On our way back we choose another takeaway to eat in.

K2 Takeaway & Café
@aniakepa
Second best takeaway
Add to
Details

The food is also nice and the lady that owns the business is one of the kindest persons we met there.

On the very same day we scheduled for 2 pm crystal kayak trip (3h).

I don't recommend 1h trip, you won't see anything that is not reachable on foot.

Anse Source d'Argent
@aniakepa
Total must have!

Details
Anse Pierrot
@aniakepa
Reachable only by kayaks, so take into consideration 3h trip. On 1h you will see only what is just around the corner.

Here I would let the pictures talk for me.

Day 6 - Relax and hopping to Mahe

On this day we decided to be back to most beautiful beach in the world. This place has some magic in it so we thought this is worth to pay 2 times the entrance fee and enjoy those beaches a bit more.

Anse Source d'Argent
@aniakepa
Total must have!

This left me speechless simply and if I have to choose 1 island on Seychelles this will be it.

On our way to the ferry port we decided to eat something. This time we will spend 1,5h on the ferry and it can get quite dizzy so if you have sea sickness consider taking some pill.

Avalunch
@aniakepa
Near to ferry port so you can take a lunch before the journey :)
Add to
Details

We can recommend this place for lunch, however the size of the meal is really big and you cannot sit there if you use takeaway instead of restaurant.

After renting the car on Mahe (we did it online via SIXT) on this day we planned only small sightseeing of Victoria.

You need around 1h to see it all.

After this stop, we checked in our hotel, refreshed a bit and left again for the sunset.

The swimming pool is amazing, so try to stay in this amazing location.

AQUA Boutique Hotel
@aniakepa
Definitely the best hotel we've been to. As a big plus is the washing machine which saved our clothes after the whole week.

Sunset Beach
@aniakepa
Don't leave just after the sun goes down, the real sunset begins just after that.

There is no parking, but people are leaving cars down the street so you need to remember not to park under the palm trees. :)

Island Pizzeria Mahe
@aniakepa
Add to
Details

Last stop on this day - I have this thing that I am trying pizza in every country in the world, so on Seychelles we found this place and we can surely recommend it.

Day 7 - Exploring Mahe Island

As the breakfast at the hotel was quite expensive, we decided to find something on our own.

in Glorious Bakery you can choose from the menu breakfast as well as from the snacks that are already prepared to go.

Glorious Bakery & Snacks
@aniakepa
We recomment to eat avocado toast, it was the best breakfast we had on Seychelles.
Add to
Details

After gathering some proteins and power we moved to Copolia Trail. This is not really easy hiking as it turned out, so for sure you need good shoes (I did it in flip flops, but don't be me).

The view on top is magnificent and you can meet there another endemic species.

Copolia Trail
@aniakepa
Tough trekking, for sure you need proper shoes.
Add to
Details

As we went back to the car we decided to do some short break in Takamaka Rum Distillery.

It wasn't so short as it turned out, because for 10 euro you have tasting of 7 different rums.

Pro tip: arrive around 1h before the free trips that are mentioned on their website and do the tasting at the beginning. You will sober up in those 2h spend there.

Takamaka Rum Distillery
@aniakepa
Make sure you spend here enough time, because after the tasting 7 types of rum you will be for sure drunk. :P
Add to
Details

We wanted to have at least half of the day for relaxing instead of exploring, so we moved to this beach after rum tasting and stayed there for few hours. There is no beach bar, but fruits and cocos are available to buy.

You will leave the car on the street or if you want to park legitimately you can use parking which is right after the beach ends.

Although be careful there are strong currents in those waters here.

Anse Royale Beach
@aniakepa

Details

For sunset we choose the same beach and you wouldn't imagine what happened with the sky on this day.

Sunset Beach
@aniakepa
Don't leave just after the sun goes down, the real sunset begins just after that.

It started casually but, then boom!

I am not able to explain how is that possible, because as in the first picture those weren't the clouds which created those lines.

Day 8 - Exploring Mahe hidden gems and flying back to your country in the evening

Most of the international flight are in the evening, so this day is completely up to you.

We decided to still explore Mahe a little bit more and booked jeep trip.

Please don't expect to have here real off-road like on the desert, although if this is your first time in such big car it can be quite adventurous.

White Sands Adventures
@aniakepa
We recommend to take private tour, unless you want to sit in the trunk and see almost nothing during the road. Or choose only kayak trip, this we enjoyed the most.
Add to
Details

Our first stop was small trekking to this hidden gem. The water was so refreshing that you don't want to move out of it.

Grand Anse Cascade (waterfall)
@aniakepa
Don't try to get there by your own car.
Add to
Details

After that and 2 more panoramic spots (similar views to Copolia trail) we had a lunch at one of takeaways (be prepared that not much vege options are there) then we moved to interesting place that doesn't exist on the map.

Hidden Gem

Kayaking on huge lake near to Police Bay.

Try to find it on google maps - you won't see there any lake for sure. This experience was one of the best we had during whole stay and I've never in my life seen such big palms and such small and clear border between turquoise ocean and black lake.

Police Bay
@aniakepa
Although the beach can be reached on foot, you won't see much from the lake itself.
Add to
Details

So after that we were dropping off our car at the airport and checked in on our plane back to Warsaw.

Enjoy exploring!
