My friends and I took a trip to Budapest, Hungary in March 2023, here are the things we did.

How did we get there?

We started in France with an early morning train to the Charles de Gaulle Airport where we boarded an EasyJet flight to the Bergamo Airport in Milan, Italy.

After that first flight, we had about an hour to transfer ourselves to our next flight with Ryanair to Budapest, Hungary.

Where did we stay?

There were a lot of options for accommodation, but we ultimately ended up booking our 2 nights at Avenue Hostel in a 4 bed private room.

The room was comfy and spacious. We had individual lockers and curtains around our beds.

We were located near the kitchen, lounge area, bar, and shared bathroom.

On our second night, we weee able to get free dinner with the purchase of a drink at the bar. My drink was around €3,50.

What did we do?

We had just about 40 hours in to explore the city, and we were able to see and do a lot.

To make sure we hit the spots that we wanted to see the most, we highlighted the top 3 choices and went with the flow to find the rest.

We loved the Széchenyi Thermal Bath! It was a quick metro ride from our hostel, about 10 minutes. We were only there for a few hours, but we enjoyed it.

Margaret Island was another favorite. We lounged on chairs by the river and took lots of pictures by the pond.

Retek Mini had some of the best food I’ve had in my life! (Don’t tell my mom ;) ) This is a smaller section of the Retek Bisztro around the corner. They serve traditional Hungarian Cuisine.

You can’t miss…

•Seeing Parliament at night.

-It is such a dream. Pretty in the daytime, but gorgeous at night.

•The view from Budavári Palota (Buda Castle)

-It is absolutely breathtaking and worth the walk uphill!
