Epic Outdoor Adventure Travel for 10 days in Switzerland
Where to fly into for this itinerary:
Transportation:
1. Rental car: In my opinion, this gives you the flexibility to stay in more authentic locations where public transportation isn’t as easily accessible. Plus, the roads in Switzerland are excellently maintained and it’s pretty easy in regards to international driving. Additionally, the mountain passes you drive through from destination to destination are stunning.
2. Public transportation: Swiss half fare card. They have a high speed train in Switzerland that can get you to all the popular hubs. When you purchase the Swiss half fare card, you get a 50% discount on all journeys by train, bus, or boat. Where this comes in handy is you ALSO get a discount on most (but not all) gondola rides. Gondola rides are required to access the trailheads of the most incredible hikes in Switzerland. If you’re wondering if it’s the worth the money, I’ll tell you right now, it is. Particularly for the 3 hikes I will mention in detail in this guide.
Word of advice:
- Switzerland can be pricey. If you’re looking for a place to save your money, I recommend saving money on eating out. The food at restaurants is expensive, and honestly, not the most world reknown. You’re better off going to the grocery store, making your own charcuterie boards, buying the wine, and eating in. I do recommend getting a bratwurst at a local vendor though!
