Discovering Fukuoka : Attraction Guide (Japan)
Waiyan 🌸 Japan Travel Diaries 🌸
Available for hire
Fukuoka (福岡) is Kyushu's largest and one of Japan's ten most populated cities/prefectures. Fukuoka is renowned across Japan for it's good and cheap food 🥢
Hakata city, the capital of Fukuoka, arguably has some of the best cuisine, shopping, and nightlife in Japan. It's access to great beaches, a variety of nature, and the rich culture and historical legacy of Kyushu as a whole make it one of the best hubs in Japan, whether to live in or just to visit 🏖️
Fun fact! Fukuoka is closer to the capital of South Korea than it is to the capital of Japan. The city is 883 kilometres from Tokyo but just 540 kilometres from Seoul 🇰🇷
This is a comprehensive guide with a list of attractions you can add to your Fukuoka itinerary.

Details
Many people visit this spot for the out-of-this-world experience of watching the sunset between the Futamigaura Couple Stones, which are a symbol of happy marriage 🌅
The two rocks are said to represent deities from Japanese mythology, Izanagi and Izanami, with the Shimenawa (Shinto straw rope), symbolising the union and connection between these two Gods. Both the view and the history and meaning attached to this spot are romantic, making it an often-visited spot by couples and families 💍💜
