Welcome to our guide which includes all of the amazing, romantic, and world-class hotels we have stayed at, organized by location. Scrolling through Instagram to find what you’re looking for is a pain, so that’s why we wanted to put all of our hotel knowledge in one location for you! We’re all about convenience and making things easier, so the hotels are organized by continent, then country, and finally by state/city. We also made it alphabetical for extra ease of finding what you are looking for!

Finally, know that every place we have listed is somewhere we have personally stayed at and would recommend to our family/friends and would stay at again!

Thompson Denver - part of Hyatt
@wanderingloveletters
The Thompson is the perfect spot to stay when visiting Denver. The rooms are cozy and have fantastic views. But that’s not our favorite part. With fresh eucalyptus hanging in the shower and high quality products, the bathroom makes you feel as if you are at a spa! Now the hotel itself is located conveniently downtown and is walkable to many shops, restaurants, Coors Feild and Union Station. In addition, with the resort fee you pay upon booking, you get many perks, like tickets to the zoo and special offers at local shops and restaurants. Pet friendly!

Florida

The Betsy Hotel
@wanderingloveletters
The Betsy is the cutest hotel with all the beach vibes in all of Miami Beach, Florida! The hotel is named after the owners’ dog, Betsy, who is known to frequent the hotel. It’s located right on the famous Ocean Drive and is a quick walk across the street to the beach. It’s also very walkable to pretty much anywhere you want to go in Miami Beach, so no Ubers necessary. The rooms are cute and nicely decorated to go along with the rest of the hotel’s decor. There’s also a coffee shop and two pools (one courtyard and one rooftop with a bar). If you’re looking for a cute, family owned hotel in Miami Beach, then The Betsy is the place for you! Pet friendly!

Indiana

Ironworks Hotel Indy
@wanderingloveletters
This boutique hotel on the north side of Indianapolis is truly one of a kind. We got married in Indy and stayed here for our wedding night and it was perfect! The beds are plush and the showers have rain shower heads. Not only is the hotel wonderful, but its location is hard to beat. The restaurants in the building next door are some of our favorites in the city (ie Verde, Ruth’s Chris). And there is a fashion mall a few minutes down the road with all of the top brand stores. Pet friendly!

Surety Hotel
@wanderingloveletters
If you are in Des Moines, you have to stay at the Surety Hotel. We’ve already stayed a handful of times and will keep coming back anytime we are in the area. The hotel is located in a historic building and has done a fantastic job keeping the historic elements while also being fully updated with elegant and modern comforts. Not only is the hotel beautiful, but its location is also fantastic. Most of downtown Des Moines is easily walkable from the hotel, and if it’s not, then it’s a quick drive away (the hotel has convenient in-and-out parking privileges for a small nightly fee). It is also located just 1 block away from one of the country’s best farmers market, held every Saturday morning during the summer! The Surety hotel is pet friendly.

Minnesota

Hewing Hotel
@wanderingloveletters
A boutique hotel with modern yet rustic Minnesota vibes located in downtown Minneapolis. The rooms are cozy and the “Up North” vibes are strong. The hotel features a bar and restaurant, but what really makes it unique is the rooftop pool and sauna that is open year-round. So grab a drink and soak in the city skyline while sitting poolside. Pet friendly!

New Mexico

Bishop's Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection
@wanderingloveletters
This luxury resort has been named the #10 best resort in the world by Conde Nast Traveler Reader Choice Awards and it is easy to see why. It is absolutely stunning from every angle! The adobe architecture blends perfectly with the surrounding Santa Fe landscape while the decor integrates Southwestern charm into every aspect of the resort. The hotel is built onto the mountainside, so each room has a picture-perfect view of the mountains. While the views are worth a visit by themselves, what truly sets this place apart are the immersive experiences from off-road adventures and fly fishing to weekly cultural events and fire-side dining at their restaurant, SkyFire. Bishop’s Lodge is family-friendly with activities for all ages and dog-friendly (the restaurants even have a dog menu!).

Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm
@wanderingloveletters
Located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley of Albuquerque, this historic inn and farm is one of the most unique hotel experiences! The Inn is part of a working farm set among lavender fields, cottonwood trees, and formal gardens. You’ll even find peacocks, sheep, alpacas, and farm cats as you wander around the property. If staying on a farm isn’t cool enough, there are so many more cool things about Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Farm. Be sure to check out their farm shop for their signature lavender products and local artisanal products. If you get hungry, stop by Campo (make reservations!) for a farm-to-table experience you won’t soon forget. Other fun things to do include biking (they provide the bikes) the local trails, morning yoga in the yurt, cocktails in the library, or relax by the pool.

Kimpton Journeyman Hotel
@wanderingloveletters
We’ve stayed at several Kimpton properties and this one has been our favorite so far! It’s located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward putting it within easy walking distance to many incredible restaurants, coffee shops, Milwaukee’s Public Market, and shopping. The hotel itself is full of laid-back charm and cozy rooms. One of its most exciting features is the rooftop bar and restaurant where you can sit fireside and enjoy a cocktail and a beautiful view of Milwaukee. Pet friendly!

Bonaire

Delfins Beach Resort Bonaire
@wanderingloveletters
If you are planning to visit the underrated country of Bonaire, then there’s no other resort you should be looking at other than Delfin’s. This resort is located right on the bright blue Caribbean ocean. It has 4 different restaurants to choose from and a coffee shop so you don’t ever have to leave the property if you don’t want to (you should though because Bonaire is incredible!). There are also two pools and a fitness center. The rooms are simple, yet feature everything you need and more. Some have sweeping views of the resort and ocean while others have their own pool.

Nayara Gardens
@wanderingloveletters
Oh boy, where do we even start with Nayara?! We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2021 and still talk about wanting to return all the time. We absolutely loved our time at Nayara! Nayara Gardens is just 1 or 3 properties, the others being Nayara Springs and Nayara Tented Camps. All are connected and when you stay at one, you have access to the other two properties. At Gardens, you’ll stay in a gorgeous, stand-alone casita in the rainforest with an outdoors shower, a gorgeous bathroom, and a deck with a plunge pool. Some casitas even have a view of the volcano. The entire property has several pools, swim up bars, multiple restaurants, hot springs, and a coffee shop, all connected by bridges and pathways through the rainforest. Make sure to keep an eye out for sloths in the trees! If that’s not enough, there are morning yoga sessions and off-property excursions you can book. Everything about Nayara is perfect!

Nayara Springs
@wanderingloveletters
Sister property to Nayara Gardens, this is the adults-only section. The rooms have their own private plunge pool overlooking the volcano. The springs property is also the area with the natural hot springs, one of which has a bar. Nayara Springs is upscale and luxurious with incredible restaurants and pools with stunning views. You are truly immersed in the rainforest, so keep an eye out for sloths and other wildlife in the trees. Nayara Springs is attached to Nayara Gardens and Nayara Tented Camp, so when staying on any of the three properties, you have access to the other two.

Nayara Tented Camp
@wanderingloveletters
The third of three Nayara properties is also located in Fortuna, Costa Rica. Nayara Tented Camps is connected to the other two, giving you access to all three properties (including pools and restaurants) when you stay here. This property is more rugged, yet still incredibly luxurious. Your room is a luxurious tent nested into the rainforest with your own plunge pool. It lets you truly reconnect with nature in style. There are several different-sized tents to accommodate couples to families of various sizes.

Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá - The Leading Hotels of the World
@wanderingloveletters
This is no big city hotel, it’s a resort! Never would we have thought that you could find a hotel that feels like some wellness resort in the middle of a large city like Rome, but that’s what the Villa Agrippina Gran Melia is. The property is gorgeous with a pool, a spa, citrus trees, and views over the city of Rome. The rooms are large with amazing amenities. Our room had a large tub in the shower and oh boy did we use it! The perfect way to wind down after walking miles around Rome. The hotel is located next to the Vatican and just across the river from Rome’s center, making it a quick walk from all the main sites. And it’s a trek, but walking to the Colosseum is doable and highly recommended and you get to see more of the city.

Sorrento

Hotel Bellevue Syrene
@wanderingloveletters
“Legend has it that this place, set between rocks and sea, was so beautiful that mermaids called it their home.” As soon as you set foot into Hotel Bellevue Syrene, you can tell you are somewhere special. Everything about this hotel is beyond stunning! Arches of wisteria set against clean, white marble. It is built into the cliffs edge and looks across the water to Mount Vesuvius. Our suite was just as stunning with a king bed under vaulted ceilings, large doors that opened up to the sea-view balcony, and a bathroom that you could live in forever. As a guest of the hotel, you get access to their private beach club to experience the warm sun, the cool sea, and the reason mermaids decided to call this place their home.
