Best of the Best: Thailand

Available for hire
I've spent 6 months working in Thailand as a tour guide, so it's safe to say I know my way around the country. This guide contains my professional recommendations of the best temples, beaches, waterfalls, viewpoints, restaurants, and bars. I've even included my favorite hostels for each city. With this thorough guide (divided by each tourist hot-spot), you will feel like a local yourself.

Bangkok
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan
@tamaraknell
The most famous temple in Bangkok. I would recommend going with a guide so you can actually learn some of the Buddhist history. Don't forget to cover up! Everyone needs to cover their knees and shoulders.

The Grand Palace

Be prepared for crowds. It's still worth it though as the grounds are beautiful. There is an entry fee of $15 USD.

Tichuca Rooftop Bar T-One Buidling
@tamaraknell
I'm sure you have seen this one on Tik Tok. The bar is stunning with 360 rooftop views. You have to buy a drink to enter and its wayy pricey for Thailand but worth it if you wanna see the hype.

Wat Chana Songkram Rajchaworamahavihan
@tamaraknell
A much less touristy temple, locals pray here a lot. Entry is free as well. All of the gold you see 24 karat! Don't forget to cover up and be respectful of the monks.

Cafe Mumbai Khaosan
@tamaraknell
BEST Indian food I've ever had. Honestly idk how this place is so good but it is. Get the butter prawn and garlic naan. Thank me later! The vibe inside is super cool as well, you can sit on the floor and listen to live music on the weekends.

The Club
@tamaraknell
This club is actually called The Club lol. It's on Khao San Road but its inside and air conditioned. They play decent EDM and it pops off every night of the week. There is an entry fee of around $8 USD and it includes a drink. If you get in before midnight it's even cheaper.

Originally from LA, I've solo traveled to 58 countries at 27 years old.
Most of my travels have revolved around South East Asia, Central America, Europe, Australia, and South America.
I specialize in budget backpacking and slow travel. I focus my recommendations on adventure activities, nature, cultural experiences, local food, and nightlife.
I've had tons of crazy experiences along my journey that has shaped me into the confident backpacker I am today. I want every person (but women especially!) to feel the joy and freedom that comes from solo traveling.
I'll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've made tons of mistakes traveling; I've lost my debit card, had medical emergencies, stolen iPhones, and the occasional mental breakdown...or two. Traveling is not always picture perfect so I want to show you all the nitty gritty details to make sure you are THE most prepared for your backpacking adventure.
