π How to get there?
Check the bus schedule (Bus 630, β¬2 fare) and rely on the Moovit app for directions β Google Maps can lead you astray! Embark from Pissouri Beach and follow the coastline to the right to discover the trail entrance. It's a moderate trek with a 300m ascent, offering breathtaking views of Pissouri village. It is very easy to find :)
ποΈ Feel like unwinding instead? Lounge on the beach along the trail and catch the bus back later.
π What can you spot on Cape Aspro Trail?
The geology is absolutely fascinating! Keep an eye out for numerous fossils embedded in the rocks. During the Messinian salinity crisis, the Pissouri Basin accumulated thick gypsum deposits. Subsequent faulting led to the formation of slope fan deltas, followed by deeper marine micrites and marlstones. The trail showcases terrigenous siltstone/sandstone turbidites representing fan delta formations. As Troodos uplifted, micro-Gilbert-type deltas advanced southward, interspersed with Terra Rossa palaeosols.

- Bring sunglasses, it is very bright!
- Wear sturdy hiking shoes and use trekking poles for stability.
- Carry enough food and water, as there are no drinking sources along the trail.
