My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Queenstown and it has now become somewhere we want to go back to again and again.

Our trip balanced some indulgent luxuries with more affordable options, and struck a good balance between doing everything we wanted to do while still having some much needed post wedding down time.

Kamana Lakehouse
This was our first stop and after all the commotion of a wedding, getting to an airport and the flight. Nestled just outside the center of Queenstown, Kamana Lakehouse is an oasis to start a relaxing holiday. Nest Kitchen & Bar is also a perfect place to have dinner as the sun sets or a warming cocktail after a day of skiing.

The Remarkables
We spent 2 days skiing at the Remarkables and it was fantastic, not as busy as Cardrona or Coronet Peak which is what we wanted as I had never skied before. We also managed to book transport through our hotel which meant all we had to do was be at reception by a certain time, making the whole experience easy.

I had never skied before so this being a quieter ski field actually worked out perfect, at no point did I feel cramped or that it was over crowded.
