... from Bern
Taking around 29mins, this train covers 26km direct without the need for changes, costing around £16.
You may not think of tanks when you think of Switzerland, however Thun has an incredible collection of Swiss and foreign tanks if you want to step back in time!

As you may know, I am a sucker for old streets with cute shops and this is no exception to the rule. Obere Huaptgasse is known for its 'raised pavements', famous for a great picture spot

- If you're considering visiting here and wondering what on earth are 'raised pavements' - I had the same question!! They are found almost exclusively in Switzerland, and there doesn't seem to be an explanation for them. They are pavements that are almost a story above the street below, so you can walk below the road then explore the upper level. They were likely a result of roads being lowered in the 16th century and they just kept the 2 levels!
This is a great place for the envy worthy picture of the castle! This square has markets on Saturday mornings selling local produce so be sure to check it out if in the area.
The lake looks simply stunning from here. Get yourself a picnic or try some food at the restaurant located inside where you can take in the views of the mountains framing the lake
