Trogir and Split)

Trogir

We based our selves near the town of Trogir. It’s a beautiful town with lovely restaurants, historic setting and close to great beaches. It is also around 30 minutiae from Split by car and around 10 minutes from Split airport. Trogir has a lovely historic setting with a stunning promenade full of restaurants and bars. There is also a Sunday market with local grown produce and also with local made pottery and souvenirs.

Split

Split is one of the must see places in Croatia, it is full of history and character as well as beauty. We visited Split for half a day (although you may wish to allow for more time), we walked around the city, visited the Bell tower to take in the breath taking views of the city and walked to the top of Forest Park Marjan. You can also visit the Diocletian's Palace which dates back to Roman times.

Dubrovnik and Markarska

Dubrovnik

We drove from Trogir to Dubrovnik which in total took us around 3 hours there and 3 hours back. It was definitely worth the drive as on the way there you get to see the stunning mountain and sea views which will take your breath away! On the way there we had a quick stop in Duboka which has a breath taking view of the sea.

The city of Dubrovnik is also beautiful with UNESCO listed attractions which overseas the clear sea waters of the Adriatic Sea. Please be aware of you drive to the city that parking is very expensive, I would recommend parking near the ferry port and getting the bus to the city center.

The island of Barč

On Brač island we visited the village of Supetar, and the village of Milna. Both are picturesque villages with lovely cafes, restaurants and bars. We then drove to the village of Bol to the famous Golden Horn beach which definitely did not disappoint. Clear blue waters, with many water activities such as windsurfing and boating available. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes overlooking the sea to enjoy a refreshing drink.

The island of Hvar

Of your taking a car via ferry the ferry times are less frequent so I would recommend to pre book your ferry ticket. The ticket you will need is from Split to Stari Grad, however If your only travelling by foot there are plenty of catamaran boats available which also travel from Split directly to Hvar.
