One Day in Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Our cruise arrived at the port early morning and departed late afternoon, we split our day, during the first part we went to the beach and for the second part we went to the Palma city center.
The Beach
Mallorca has many beaches to offer, but we wanted to stay close to the port to enjoy the beach longer.
Near the port there is a public bus stop. Bus #4 in just 15 minutes will take you to the Ses Illetes (last stop).
Tip: Bus ride is 2 euros per person, pay on board with cash, bus drivers do not accept large bills.
We took same bus to return to the port for quick stop on the ship.
To get to the city center we again took public bus #1 that stops in the port and has stop in the old city center. The ride is quick, around 15 minutes to the 129-Argentina - sa Feixina stop.
Tip: The bus price is 3 Euros from the port.
From the bus stop walk on promenade toward the Cathedral de Palma. On your way, don't forget to take a picture by the famous PALMA sign.
It took us about 15 minutes walking to get to Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca.
Allow at least 30 minutes to walk around the area to admire the Cathedral de Palma from different angles and viewpoints and then you can find picturesque narrow streets to get to the next stop - Plaza de Court ( approx.. 5 minutes walk)
You can find many restaurants here for a stop to enjoy Spanish food and drinks. We walked around many streets around this plaza before we headed to the next stop as it was very vibrant, and each building attracted our attention for few minutes.
We then continued to walk on Carrer de Colom & Carrer de Sant Miguel, high street with shops, Basilicas, and street art. The total walk is about 20 minutes.
If you continue to walk through the street you will get to another historic place and tourist attraction - Plaza Mayor.
We finished by La Rambla where we found our bus back to the port. Just 5 minutes' walk from Plaza Mayor.
Full walk through all places with stops will take around 2 hrs. - 2. hrs 30 minutes.
Palma was one of our favorite stops among all it has many things to offer. We will absolutely come back!
